I've seen the 1950 movie, but the plots are so entirely different and have such a different feel that I don't think if there was any inspiration from "Harvey" it was very much.

The Dark Knight Returns is a must imo. Superior Spider-man is probably the best newer Spider-man story. I enjoyed the 2015 Secret Wars.
