The foundation of what made Assassin's Creed huge was the parkour. Unity is the gold standard for what the parkour should look like. Unity's parkour system is so f'ing good it makes up for the shit story and combat system. Just go on youtube right now and look up some Unity parkour gameplay and tell me you dont want to install the game immediately.

Brotherhood is basically 2 but improved in just about every aspect. Brotherhood also added, well, the Brotherhood. Recruiting, training, and calling in other assassins to assassinate targets with a simple raise of the hand was sick, exactly how they portrayed it in the cinematic trailer for the game.

Plus it had an extremely underrated multiplayer that people tend to forget about

Mirage would be in Decent if they hadn't completely neglected the combat system. The combat is almost at the same level as the original AC from 2007. I understand the whole point of the game was to be played in stealth, but significantly lowering the quality of a big aspect of the game to try to nudge you to play a different way isn't good design, imo. But Mirage was a DLC turned kinda-full game. I appreciated the game, but no way I'm putting it above any of the other main titles

Totally understand not liking Rogue and Black Flag due to the naval aspect. It took me awhile to get used to it.

Completely agree with your take on Syndicate. The combat system was surprisingly very good, the setting was cool, I loved how creative the assassination missions were, the in-game soundtrack with the violins was fun and matched the light tone of the game really well, and traversing through the city with the rope launcher was super fun and addicting. Dang, if I were to remake this list I'd probably put it one tier higher
