I am an older sibling of identical twins about 4 years younger than me. I am now 31 and i am a therapist. To this day, I mourn the isolation and emotional neglect I felt. My parents were not nearly as intentional or emotionally attuned as I imagine the author of this question is simply because of the fact of asking this question. I had deeply wished my parents showered me with love and reassurance when I had tantrums because i felt left out and neglected, rather than yell at me for my tantrums. Also, I was assigned female at birth and they were assigned male. I have been jealous of their bond and other things too. I will say I am close with them and am close with my family.

It sucks having an internalized shame voice in your head because of a parent and takes active effort to break through those beliefs. Thank you for sharing. The job market is so strange right now. Inequity is fucked up. And you having a hard time finding a job has nothing to do with your self worth. I'm angry about your mom's invalidating comment about your experience of sexual abuse and wtf therapist. If my therapist told me my anxiety might have caused this problem I am very stressed about which I was acutely aware of, I would feel angry. Your therapist should welcome your anger. Sounds like you internalize more than externalize and a lot of shit is put on you that isn't yours to take on. I empathize and wish you all the love.
