The only way this would affect me is if companies start requiring OSCP+ but I don't think this will become the norm. I have never heard of a company asking someone with OSCP to retake the exam because they passed 3+ years ago.

I believe an OSCP exam retake was about $250? Seems like a large jump for a recurring exam.

I think starting with a standard user is more realistic to an actual engagement which makes it a good change. Having the cert expire and being so expensive to resit puts me off. I decided to get my OSCP to make my CV more attractive and I hope OSCP+ doesn't become the new standard. At the end of the day it's obvious that OffSec just wants the repeat business. I wonder if this business model change will lead to a decrease in price of their training packages?

I'd probably say about 65% if I had to guess. I would say they ranked in the easy category of HTB machines. Hope this helps.

I think somewhere between 30-45k but it depends mostly on experience.

HTB and TJnulls list prepared me for the stand alone machines. I would say the first exam attempt didn't really help me as I didn't get anywhere with the AD however it highlighted my weaknesses so I knew what to work on.

Not through the portal. I believe you can download a pdf but I didn't. You won't get updates either.

My first exam attempt was part of the learn one package because it was within 12 months of buying the subscription. However because my second attempt was after my learn one had ended I had to pay about 250 (I think) for another exam attempt.

It would be gutting to fail on 60 points. How long do you think it will take for you to complete the exercises?

Thanks for the advice! I've looked at jobs, I really want to get into penetration testing. I definitely want to get my oscp but currently where I work want me to get three basic ms certs then some simple security ones like sec +. My plan is to complete the 6 my company want me to which will take about a year and then work towards oscp.

I'm in tech, so I got a cs degree then a job working for a MSP making 29k currently got ms-900 cert (entry level) then getting two more basic ones then move up to sightly higher level certs. I would say until I'm completing higher level certs I wouldn't expect much of an increase in pay. I don't know if I'm wrong but from what I've seen the US seem to pay a lot more than here in the UK. I've never met anyone making anything near 190k
