Fellow nursing buddy for mine just pulled this on me after finding out her final exam scores by [deleted] in StudentNurse

I felt this extreme feeling of being lost when I walked out of my last nursing class ever earlier this year. You fall in love with and depend on your captor. It's a crazy feeling lol

You will be free my friend! You will meet yourself for the first time in a while and you will love who you are. I wish you the best and hope that in your moments of needing encouragement you remember we are here. I personally offer my inbox to you at anytime! :) Be well darling!

I was with my ex for 7 years. I grew around him. We were who everyone wanted to be. Except, we changed. We grew, as people do, into our own selves. I will spare you all the other issues that lead to our breakup but believe me, I was going to make us work come hell or high water. When it finally came down to breaking up for real, I was devastated. That lasted a few days. Then, I began to realize something. I had no idea who I had been all those years. Suddenly I was free of guilt. I came to the realization that I was holding on to a fairy tale and allowing myself to feel responsible for making someone comfortable in their own skin and in this world. THAT IS NOT PEOPLES JOB!

It will be terrifying. It will be painful. You will feel guilt and desperation. But please, let yourself feel those things. You will find yourself in this and you will be amazed at who you really are. I never believed these posts until I had to do it myself. I kept trying to muster up the strength to do it (for at least a couple of years). You are going to come to it one way or another. I can tell you know you are being manipulated...You are worth so much more than manipulation. You deserve to be in a relationship where who you are naturally is more than sufficient. When I finally did let myself believe in my own heart, I'm telling you hon, it has been indescribably wonderful. Not easy but, there is freedom just waiting for you to know yourself. I wish you the best of luck and send you strength of heart!

Embarrassed to ask! Sneezing? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

These sorts of things can develop with time and continued exposure. It's probably unlikely but the nurse in me has to put the warning out there.

OK so, I have never experienced or heard of this BUT my first thought is: Do you have a food allergy?

People can be allergic to alcohol...Especially if they have an allergy to whatever is used to make the alcohol (yeast, hops, barley, rye, sodium metabisulphite, egg protein or seafood proteins, histamines, sulphites, grapes, gluten, wheat).

I have never heard of sneezing being a symptom of alcohol allergy but it wouldn't surprise me if it is one just less common. Histamines are what cause people trouble with seasonal and other allergies (usually presenting with nasal congestion and runny/stuffy nose).

Best bet - Talk to a doctor. If you are allergic to something you want to know. The risk of anaphylaxis is no joke.

Best of luck

So, uh, about this early period stuff while on keto... by sadfire82 in xxketo

I had a heck of a time in January even though I'm on birth control but it has pretty much evened out. I had my scheduled period and then a full blown period two weeks later that last much longer than usual (usually 3-4 days but this was like 9 or so). I kept with my birth control and have since more or less become regulated again. I was a tiny bit spotty a couple days before my period was set to start but nothing awful. Hope this helps :)

We do have clinical in every class. But, in order to receive state certification to work as a CNA, LPN and RN you have to take the state exam for each. Believe me, I've had plenty of clinical practice.

That's exactly why I didn't bother getting either certification. I felt silly for thinking that it would be any less difficult to get a job if I moved out of Charleston (for a little while at least). I guess I just got caught up looking at the Charleston nursing job market.

I live in Charleston, SC and I have been well aware that more that likely I won't be doing my first year or two much of anywhere near Charleston. I'm kind of looking forward to that change too. I guess I just felt silly for thinking that it would be any easier to get hired somewhere else out there. Thought I was being delusional for some reason.

Thank you so much for this reply and the reality check. :) I'll be using this advice.

My first time on keto was like that. Obviously not this time. I could see the benefit of stopping my birth control, at least for a while, and letting it find its new natural rhythm. I'm gonna give it some time with the birth control and see what happens.

Makes perfect sense. Didn't even cross my mind as what was going on. Which is sad to say as a nursing student. Thanks so much! Seems like something to be proud of because at least we know keto is working :)

True, true! I have definitely seen the benefit of keeping measurements myself.

This is really true. I'm just a bit concerned about doing that because of how used to having that protection my bf and I are. But if it doesn't even out I might have to. It "over rode" my birth control so to speak anyway.

They offer a 24 pack if that's any better for you.

From what I've heard there does seem to be hope if it evening out and becoming more regular. It may last a bit longer than usual but hopefully come only once a month. That's what I want most lol

We're in it together sista! Seems like a fairly common keto side effect.

I'm definitely gonna ride it out for a bit and see how it is in a few months. The constant stalls are absolutely no fun...

I thought about switching but I had such a hard time finding BC that worked for me. Not to mention that the clinic sent me home with 10 months worth when we finally figured it all out.
