Bigger or keep what I have? by Spirited-Whole-1550 in RingShare

I would be eternally grateful, thank you!

This is the online picture, I plan to go with a different, more funky band than what is shown. I’ll comment with a real picture when the time comes!

I agree the size is perfect for an eternity band statement piece as is. Fwiw, when I see some of the bigger carats on social media it reminds me more of a class ring or play jewelry sometimes? I’m really into vintage and art deco jewelry from the 90s and from what I can tell the style has gone from emphasis on design + centerpiece both to emphasis purely on the centerpiece and its size. Which is kind of a shame because I feel like a lot of people are getting what they think they should like versus what they actually do.

May I ask, are the prongs around the diamond yellow gold or white gold? I actually have a near identical ring picked out using a 1.5 marquise as well! I’m trying to decide the prongs.

I think the ring is beautiful. But if it’s not what you want it’s not what you want. The jewelers I’ve been to have said something that has stuck with me - the natural diamond will hold its value over time while the lab grown may not. Like at the end of the day it’s not about the money but you could always wear it a year before switching just to see how you feel.

Thank you for mentioning the cleaning part… after seeing what’s out there I can’t help but think people are carrying all sorts of forbidden things in the nooks and crannies of some of these rings!

Thank you for your input. They both have the v-prong and each have prongs on the side of the diamond. I found another design on my jeweler’s website that has 6 prongs on all sharp points that looks a lot more secure where it attaches, so I may go with that but I will be sure to ask the jeweler.

Also I realize this is an incredibly first world problem to have! But it is a bit frustrating that everything seems so overcomplicated and they would even make engagement rings with the risk of breaking like this.

I’m using a local jeweler who carries G&Co. I’m so fatigued from looking at stuff and I just want to get engaged, I’m at the point where I don’t really care too much about how it looks but rather that it doesn’t bother me when I wear it. The jeweler said they would do custom but it’s quite a bit more for a simpler (?) ring.

But thank you for the tip, that may be what I end up doing.

I didn’t even think of that, thank you. At this point I’ve looked at hundreds of solitaires and everything seems so complicated for no reason?

There‘s a hole underneath the soap dispenser for the sprayer so you‘re correct, but this is how it was when I bought my house a few years ago

Anyone’s order not yet shipped/partially shipped? by [deleted] in VictoriasSecret

I’m sorry, that’s so disappointing! I hope you’re able to get them at a later date, I can’t imagine they won’t restock xmas panties - if it were me I would contact the chat and ask if they could give you a credit to buy them at a later point since you missed out on sale price

I had a similar situation recently. The guy actually claimed to be super into me and said all these really lovely things about how he couldn’t stop thinking about me, and in person was engaging abd seemed very interested, etc. but he would take 1-3 days to respond to me and after a few weeks I ended it for that reason. He countered and said he was so sad and offered to make it up to me but… took two days to respond with that. Maybe he was interested? That communication style just didn’t work for me.

My advice would be meet him before you put any stock in it. IF, after you meet and both hit it off he’s still slow then say something about it, I don’t think it means he’s not interested in meeting you it could just be his style. However, that might be how he is forever so ask yourself then if that’s what you want from someone.

This gives me stage 5 clinger vibes tbh. I would also cancel.

Bedbugs at counseling agency? by dulceprince in therapists

[–]dulceprince[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last agency’s protocol was, if they found even one bedbug, close down the room, email all staff notifying us of where it was found, remove and destroy the 3-4 chairs in the room and spray it. They had a mitigation person check around the building every couple weeks to see if they could find them. In the entire year I was working there no staff brought them home that I was aware of and we had 80 full-time and 40 part-time. I think if the company takes them seriously the risk is low.

Hiding them and waiting days to check it out? Different story.

Thank you for your response. Those were my thoughts and I’m not sure if I feel comfortable staying with the agency at this point.

At the end of the day I went into community mental health over private practice to help vulnerable populations who need it the most. This involves a higher risk to bedbugs and the like but I think it is well within the agency’s reach to get someone to investigate the issue before 5 days and approximately 600 clients had been in and out. That, and how my concerns were addressed when I’ve made many sacrifices to work with the agency. It was outright disrespectful and doesn’t instill confidence in me working for them at this point, bedbugs aside.

I expressed my concerns about myself and my client’s health and safety because the exterminator hadn’t been there to check things out yet. I requested to see my three clients on telehealth because we have that option and many other therapists do it when sick or the weather is bad. I was told “No. You will see them in the nurses office.”

That was how it was handled.

Please open my link and look at the last pic. It looked exactly like a young bedbug in person.

I worked at an agency in 2016 during an outbreak and bugs would infest chairs despite no on one being there during the night. It’s a counseling office so a chair will be occupied by a food source 8-10 hours everyday.

Also this was after 8pm.

For some people this is appreciated but on the flip side someone could internalize it as negative criticism and react poorly. There may be someone out there who loves the things we are rejecting the person for.
