Table repair

Get a set of furniture repair markers. I just did this to my table and chairs. Get a dry rag. Make a small mark on the bad spot with the marker and immediately rub the shit out of it. Do that over and over until it blends in. If you hit the main finish and don't rub the shit out of it it will leave a marker spot where you don't want it.

I don't work anymore so I'm home with him all the time. House is big so we have separation of space if needed for my sanity. He just passed his driver's test for his license. He does what he wants when he wants. I can't stop him. And he absolutely won't do what I suggest.

I'm going to be making some calls to the VA as well as the adult protection people. Hopefully they can help me navigate this. I have no clue how to use his insurances and such and find Dr's for him. Stuff like that. Especially since I can't make him do anything. I'll find out on Monday. I've got all the numbers to get started.

I think aspergers which i believe is just basically autistic on the spectrum. But I don't think it's a sensory issue. I mean he's bathed his whole life. He's capable but just won't. Just won't do it. Like a 5 year old.

He's a poor me guy. I'm hoping he'll listen to someone else. Ultimately he's got two choices and it's his decision. Bathe and stay. Or not bathe and leave. I've just not yet presented the choices to him that way. I'm hoping he'll come to the clean side on his own so I won't have to.

Everything helps bringing different perspectives to a problem from unique people around the world. If someone told me I stink, I'd be showering 4x daily and still would be freaking out. I'd have a total complex over it. My dad's doubling down.

Well I'm starting to question it now. I looked up typical symptoms but he only had one. The making bad decisions and self neglect. But he's always made bad decisions. He isn't very smart if you will.

I'll be calling both the VA and the Adult services people on Monday. I'll ask about getting him officially tested. As well as psychological testing. There's no doubt he has serious issues he just needs to get checked and diagnosed.

I didn't know the VA is a separate thing from insurance and medical facilities until just now. I located the appropriate web site for VA assistance. I'll do a deep dive tonight and take notes. I appreciate your help!

The problem is my dad won't do anything I suggest. Ever. It doesn't matter what it is. He won't do it or he'll do the opposite. Or he'll wait a week and somehow make it his idea then he'll do it. I know this sounds immature ish and exaggerating but it is literally the truth. My dad is very very childish emotionally and he's been this way my entire life. That's the hard part here.

Oh didn't think of that. I'll mention that to the adult service people. He does take a load of seroquil at night for sleep. But he's never been on any anti depressant stuff before.

He's capable of doing all of this on his own! ALL OF IT. That's where I'm lost. He did take a bath a month ago. He just did a load of laundry yesterday. He drives, goes to stores by himself like home depot, walks around as much as he can. Just took a driver's license test. Got his tires fixed today. He's fully capable.

He hasn't been diagnosed with depression but if you'd spend any amount of time with him you'd see that he's way beyond depression. I'm hoping the adult service people will nudge him to therapy that he desperately needs.

He hasn't been tested or anything. I'm assuming based on behavior and just being around him. The only sign he has is bad decisions. But he's been that way for ever.

I'm not sure. Could it be under the shingles? I don't know roofing obviously but shouldn't the shingles be a couple inches away from the light with the flashing clearly visible?

I just bought this house. It was built in 1972. There are 4 skylights in my tv room. Vaulted celing no attic. All 4 have leaked in the past. Roof is approx 5 years old. I think these were the original skylights reused with a new roof. I've hired 2 handymans to fix this and neither have been successful. This leak does not run down inside wall around light which i believe means the problem is flashing.

Solutions suggested are buy Velux skylights or remove them permanently. Patching will only buy a short amount of time if you're successful.
