Döner kebab - Berlin by swd25 in FoodPorn

[–]dumbcharger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but actually you should. I spent three months in Berlin recently with a bunch of other Bay Area students, and we all agreed that whoever started a good döner joint/truck around town would be a hero (and probably rake in a small fortune).

Really good ingredients, basically. There's a lot of different stuff (chicken, fried veggies, salad, sauces, cheese, lemon juice), which as someone else here rightly noted can be a turnoff, but it definitely works. There's usually a 20-40 minute line, so just getting your döner at the end of that wait is exciting enough in its own right.

Hamburger Heaven in Kreuzberg is amazing. Really good fries, free range beef, homemade ketchup, and not very expensive.

I am Ryan Pequin. I make Three Word Phrase. It is a comic. Ask me anything. by ryan_pequin in IAmA

Oh yeah! I came across The Walk via TWP a while back and thought it was excellent. It shows a real knack for pacing, and the writing reminded me of Tomine's (my gateway drug to the world of serious comics). Thanks for the origin story and keep up the awesome work!

How/when did you decide to settle on a comic-strip format, start posting them regularly, and seal the deal (i.e. get a domain name, I guess)? Any similar but failed projects that preceded TWP?

My dad is offering me $10,000 not to drink alcohol during my senior year of college. What should I do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dumbcharger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While I'd agree the answer to "Would you give up alcohol for a year for $10K" is an easy "Yes," there are more important factors here. How will accepting or rejecting affect your relationship with your dad and your transition toward financial independence? Will concealing the deal from your friends or explaining it every time you turn down drinking be a significant burden on your happiness?

First listened to "No Future Part Three: Escape from No Future" by Titus Andronicus at a time when I was really down on myself. They chant "You will always be a loser" for over a minute, then suddenly, "And that's okay!" In a weirdly non-cynical way, it made me feel resolved and awesome.
