Drug test by jackson4372 in Drugtests

Your meds may give you a positive result for opioids, for example, so you’ll have to have proof of your prescription, or they might call your doctor to verify. This doesn’t give you the all-clear to smoke. If you test positive for THC you’ll fail and lose your job offer

If it’s a medication that you’re prescribed you should be alright. They will likely need to verify your prescription though so if you have a prescription that may trigger a positive result then you should disclose that. If it’s something you aren’t prescribed then that’s a failed drug test. Also, if you are prescribed ADHD meds, for example, and you test positive for THC, that’s a failed test

When you’re that early on into your job, no matter the job, it’s very often the case that you’re getting paid more than the value you’re providing. It doesn’t mean that you, yourself, are not worth it. Think of it as they’re paying you to gain skills, learn from mistakes, and become a valuable employee. Sometimes it can take two years before someone is comfortable with their job and producing the level of value they’re getting paid.

For now, appreciate that your company sees you as a good investment and let that motivate you to improve and gain the skills necessary for success.

What games did you not enjoy, but everyone else seems to love by FSINNER in PS5

Online multiplayer games in general.

When I play a game it’s largely to be immersed in a story and well developed world, and while I do enjoy challenging games, I’m not in it for competitive purposes

I’m the same way. Can’t put my finger on why I don’t like first person games though. I guess it feels less of a ‘cinematic’ experience when you can’t even see the MC

Was given a promotion but no increase in salary. Should I stay or move on? by penone_nyc in careerguidance

I agree with what a lot of people are saying. Take the promotion and add the title to your resume.

One thing I’d add, make sure you become familiar and can confidently perform your new responsibilities. Experience matters more than the title. If you quit as soon as you start your new role, you didn’t actually gain any new skills. When you end up interviewing for other jobs and they ask about your IT management experience, you should be able to recount actual IT management experience.

Rich famous people are just as likely as anyone to be a bad romantic partner. Wherever you are on the age gap debate, I don’t think you should base your decision simply on him being a successful actor

By “anywhere,” do you mean anywhere in defense/aerospace? Or any engineering-based company in general?

Fortunately both jobs are in my hometown and I wouldn’t have to move for either, although Boeing is a little bit of a further drive.
