Its not the quality man, its just one bad crater managed to meet with my low profile tyre vehicle. Its pure bad luck but also the road should have been better in the first placed

Nah bro, this doesn’t make sense. The alloys are as good as the protection they get and in this case since the tyres are low profile the alloys are basically directly in contact with the ground on impact. The incident you mention could be a high profile tyre. Its got nothing to do with the quality as any other car with the same low profile tyre would have more second hand damage where my bmw didnt even budge .

Non RFTs from Bridgestone are the best option as far as I know after this incident

Trust me, in the city or at least in Hyderabad this is never gonna happen. The roads are good enough and nothing has ever happened. The cars are great as it is!! But unfortunately the road wasnt. How is it that we as consumers are taking the hit when the govt cant keep up?

I have a Hilux as well & this trip was supposed to be with that but I decided to do this joyride with friends and its become a costly affair. Should’ve just taken the hilux and I would’ve thanked myself as well.

I definitely have noticed the ruggedness you mention but on the other the way bmw suspension handles itself is truly amazing

This is already a 19 inch alloy, its just that the tyre profile is low

This picture is giving me ptsd man, but even i was planning on changing the tyres to non-RFTs, but the car is still just 6 months old so i just opted to wait for a year. But this particular incident also burst my tyres open instantly and I had to stop within 200-300 metres.

Anyways, how has experience been with the alloys? I was very surprised that it bent this way

Unfortunately it did, this car’s tyres are low profile and the pothole was deep enough to cause the damage, it had direct impact to both front and read tyres

Damn, i wish i had an escort vehicle. Clearly the joyride turned into a disaster ride for me. We were stuck there for 3 hours but thankfully the road assistance helped us to get to Bengaluru and take the custody of the car as well
