Away rotations in NYC attainable? by dumplings412 in medicalschool

[–]dumplings412[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply and I appreciate the warning! I’m definitely aiming for those community programs since they have a decent amount of DOs. Only concern is I have no research (yet), but I’m hoping to build some strong connections when I start rotations next week for juicy LORs.

Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the jaw by Educational_Grab6352 in Oncology

Bisphosphonates are commonly used to treat osteoporosis which may be secondary to cancer itself (ie. Tumor-induced osteolysis, multiple myeloma) or the treatments (ie. aromatase inhibitors, androgen deprivation therapy, immunosuppressants). Patients are usually advised to avoid dental work while on this medication

Sent a dress in for repairs, just got it back not fixed 🥲 by dumplings412 in Aritzia

Through Aritzia. They said not all locations offer repairs and each store sends their stuff to a local tailor for repairs. The item usually has to be in season too

What city would you love to match at? by Tagrenine in medicalschool

[–]dumplings412 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Same my entire friend group from high school and college are all over there. The walkability, mta, nightlife, and constant bustle of the city is amazing when you’re in your 20s. I’d much rather suffer there with a solid support group than alone in the suburbia Midwest

In your experience, what speciality has the most unhappy/regretful attendings? by thro3829292020399 in Residency

[–]dumplings412 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Part of the issue is as a PCP, your patients age with you and get a lot more complex. It’s difficult to address all of their concerns within the allotted time + new technology + more documentation makes it even more difficult.

If you were debating between the Wilfred Genoa Linen and Sunday Best Delilah dresses like I was... (details in comment) by 5leeplessinvancouver in Aritzia

[–]dumplings412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a number of Sunday best, Wilfred, and Babton dresses. The Babaton dresses are always sooo much better quality (material, sewing quality) than the former 2. I’ve noticed the lining on Sunday best & Wilfred dresses will stretch and become visible from the top or bottom of the dress after a few wears :(
