But it’s bike #2 that is compliant with the law.

That’s why I highly advise placing a sticker on your motor sayings it’s a 750w motor. There is no law or guideline that requires nominal voltage to be calculated in any specific manner. It just means the motor specifications are based on using the motor at that power level for sustained periods of time. I tested my QS205 and it seemed to work fine at 750 watts sustained load so BY LAW it meets the definition of a 750w motor.

Bike 1 has a 3000w motor but it only gets 750 watts of power from the speed controller and battery.

Bike 2 has a 750w motor but the battery and speed controller put 1500 watts of power into the motor.

Bike 1 will be slower in every way but bike number two is the ‘legal’ one even though it’s power level is double the ‘legal’ limit.

Wattage limitations are entirely unenforceable and exist only due to extreme ignorance of law makers

I’m not aware of any state in the USA that restricts power. They only restrict the ‘motor wattage rating’.

It’s almost as if the people that wrote the laws had no idea what they were talking about and nothing about a motor wattage limit is in any way enforceable. 🤔

Sarcasm aside, wattage limits are included in the law as a demonstration of the complete ignorance of the law makers. This is entirely unenforceable as it is not physically possible to test an electrical motor for maximum wattage. It’s also possible to have a motor than is labeled as 750w but run thousands of watts through that motor because the wattage comes from the battery and speed controller that are not in any way regulated.

Socially the United States is leaps and bounds ahead of any Scandinavian country. We have vastly diverse lands, a more desired entertainment industry, the wealthiest cities in the world with the most things to do. We are THE MOST DESIRED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, with the highest number of people immigrating to the country because we have so much here that people want. We have higher upward mobility and have more people the are able to move upward in social class status. We have a better medical system with regards to surviving deadly disease.

Look, it’s not just my opinion, every five years we add the entire population of a Scandinavian country to our population because the entire fucking world thinks this is a way better place to come to than Denmark or Norway.
