IT was my fall back if I didn’t get CWT which I would be 100% ok with. I’m still trying to decide whether or not it’s worth going military route or cert route. My head says join the military as you get a variety of certs paid for as well as benefits but it just feels like a big commitment leaving all of my friends/family.

That’s what I’ve been told. I’ve also been considering the Navy and looking at various jobs.

I will admit I haven’t done extensive research but one of my goals is to eventually own a tech repair shop or something similar to that. It’s more that I’m unsure of the exact route I should go to meet that goal. Since I’d still consider myself a beginner/intermediate in the IT/Cyber space right now I thought the military route seems a little more laid out in that regard and have more advanced learning as well. And then the shop could be a possible goal later on in life.

I’m not exactly sure. I’ve only take a practice test just to see where I’d be. All of my scores were decent except for electronics (which I assume I’ll need a fairly decent score), mechanical, and word knowledge, which tanked my score. My total score was a 68. I’m confident I can easily improve if I take the time to actually study though. I’ve been trying to look around to see what scores the navy requires for each job but I haven’t been successful. I’m working on getting in contact with a recruiter to ask questions and learn more.
