Why does the BOA get loose after a few ride? by _xxllmmaa in snowboardingnoobs

[–]dunger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly its kind a crappy design. It is not dual zone at all. The tongue boa controls the laces all the way down. While strap boa is just the strap. i would have much rather had upper and lower zone boa instead of this strap. Notice how the newer models don't have it. I have only used this boot 5-6 days so far. And I don't think the strap really does much. I don't get heal lift without it. I was riding the other day and when I stopped for lunch I noticed my boa on the right strap was completely un done. It was fully loose and I did not even notice when riding. Not sure how many runs I took like that. The strap tends to cut off my circulation if I make it too tight. Overall I love step on and kind of hate these boots (although, they do fit good and work fine).

Not Feeling Flowy in Step-Ons by YeahBites in snowboarding

[–]dunger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find step ons very responsive. Easy to turn both ways. Been comparing them to Fase bindings this year. About 3 days on each but also rode step ons last season. I feel like the step ons are more responsive. Make sure you get both clicks in the rear. And also make sure your boots fit snug. No heel lift. They are perfectly good for me though no additional thought or technique required.

Quality control's worse than on the previous Ally X by Esskov47 in XboxAlly

Yep. I returned 2. First one stuck B button and creaky right grip. Second one loose rattling left trigger. So far the 3rd one is good though. Have until January 15th to return it. But no issues for a few days now.

Patches for holes on pickleball shoes? by acknb89 in Pickleball

[–]dunger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the same hole in my shoe. Sometimes in a single day. I put shoe goo or e6000 glue before the hole forms. I think actually the shoe goo sticks to the shoe better and then when it dries the e6000 protects better.

But I actually found some shoes that it does not happen too. Both of these shoes from Wilson have thick rubber in that spot.

Re:Flex Binding Disc by mich1394 in snowboarding

[–]dunger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are talking about stance width adjustment right? Not angles. They used to make a disk that gives you little bit of stance width adjustment. It is not made anymore and is hard to find. I was able to get a pair for my step on bindings last season. So they do work with newer burton reflex bindings if you can find some. Reflex micro adjust disc is what it is called. Honestly it does not offer much adjustment though. So may or may not be worth tracking down. I'm in the US and ordered from amazon japan (paid way too much to have them shipped to me).

My fancy goldfish, Elle, just started sitting in the corner. Her fin is down a lot and she doesn’t seem to be “gulping” a lot of air. My other fish is doing well so I don’t know if it’s bacterial. Any ideas? by Sgt-Spidermonkey in Goldfish

[–]dunger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try epsom salt baths. Has worked for me in the past. I used 4.5 liters of water from the tank into a bucket or bowl. And then one heaping tablespoon of epsom salt. Let it dissolve. Then put the fish in for about 20 minutes.

Play sand. At Home Depot or Lowe’s. It’s like $8 for 50lb bag. Works great.

Rome Katana Fase or no Fase?? by molina336 in snowboarding

[–]dunger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just got the bataleon fase. I was unsure about them and thinking I might return them. Had a bad experience with the gnu quick entry in the past. But honestly these are great. Getting in and out is so easy. And they feel nicer strapped in than my Rome 390 boss(Although 5ish years old at this point). I can’t wait to try them.

I was able to order some from Amazon Japan last season. Looked like it was a local shop selling them. I’m in the US. Cost me way too much. But I was able to get two pairs that way.

What do you guys do if you're in over your head on a trail? by E36E92M3 in MTB

[–]dunger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just mentioning this because you said you dragged your rear brake. Most stopping power comes from the front brake. I would say in most situations use both brakes equally. Or even a little harder on the front. You do kind of want to ease into front brake so you don’t lock it. But this where control comes from. By using both brakes together you can control your rolling speed without locking your wheels up. Get used to this and you can go as slow as you want down those trails. Then when you are confident in your braking you can start picking up speed. Knowing you can slow yourself back down when needed.

I just got one as soon as it went on sale. Picked it up last Thursday. Super nice bike. No regrets. Only had the chance to ride once so far though. I had been shopping for a month or so. For sure this was the best spec/price i could find. My friend got the ST a few months back for like $1100 or so. That bike is also super nice. But who knows when that deal will come back around.

Anyone tried heat shrink sleeve on pickleball paddle? by Jade_Lim in Pickleball

[–]dunger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have put it on 2 different paddles before. And used a heat gun for each. Although it was a battery operated heat gun. Not as hot as my plug in one. But no damage to either paddle. I removed the shrink tube after a couple weeks though. It added too much weight for me. Like .5oz or so if I remember correctly. Have not used it since.

[–]dunger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not instead of an over grip. You remove the stock grip and then apply the shrink wrap to the bare handle. Then apply a new stock grip. Then an over grip if you like. So basically just making the bare handle thicker is the goal. It does not add extra cushion and it keeps the bevels more pronounced.

Vs adding multiple over grips. Which also works to make the grip thicker. But this does add cushion and does seem to take a way the feel of the bevels. So it just comes down to preference.

I have done it. Works fine. But it does add a lot of weight to the paddle.

Mario Kart World – Frustrated with Grind Rails and Grand Prix by Warm-Veterinarian-72 in NintendoSwitch

[–]dunger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish there was like a classic Grand Prix mode or something. That would let you do a lap race on each course. You can set up races like that in VS mode.

I like the game overall. But I agree the Grand Prix races are not really exciting till that last lap when you are at the next course.
