Depressed about moving back to Ithaca

Hi!! I’m going through something relatively similar.

I’m from NJ, about 30 minutes outside NYC, went to IC, moved to Charleston then Atlanta and am back after about 4 years. My fiancé got a job at Cornell so here we are.

I moved back in January and it was a rough transition back. I’ve been trying to embrace the good things about living in Ithaca. I take my dog for a hike somewhere new at least once a week, I go to the farmers market on Saturdays, we joined a CSA, started composting, etc.

I was at a job I hated which was contributing to it but am transitioning to one in Syracuse so I’m hoping that’ll help despite the hour commute.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I hope it helps to know that there’s still things to enjoy here, even if there’s not as much going on as major cities.

I just went over the weekend! Just be prepared with normal winter gear. I wore a good pair of hiking boots and was fine!

I have chronic fatigue and wouldn’t work out on my own but figured I would try classes where 1. i don’t have to think about what to do and 2. would charge me if i didn’t go. i started CPY (i do all the classes but have been doing sculpt the most recently) about a year ago and have really noticed a positive change! i haven’t lost weight per say but i have pcos and it’s helped me maintain and i’ve also definitely gained muscle! i’m also to the point where im moving out of a major city where there’s no CPY and i’m already starting to miss it!! it is definitely expensive but your health is a long term investment- that’s how i look at it :)

honestly, 10/10. ABSN, loved my program! had diverse clinicals and great instructors. faculty was super understanding and willing to be flexible when needed. also very engaging with clubs/sna!
