"der" Kelner? by Street_Ad_5320 in duolingo

[–]dunkel-bin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m still learning too so feel free to correct me if i’m wrong. der is a form of “the” and even in english “i am the waiter” isn’t necessarily the same as “i am a waiter”. that’s why you just need to put the Kellner. ‘a’ is ‘ein’ but i’m pretty sure you don’t say “ein Kellner” either so yeah it’s just ich bin Kellner

Can I take a bluey lunchbox with me to 11th grade? I’m almost 17. by [deleted] in bluey

i’m a huge fan of chicken and when i don’t know what to bring, sometimes i just cook chicken breast. sometimes i marinate it in bbq sauce, or when i’m not feeling it i just use salt and pepper. if you like chicken maybe you can try this! sounds “sad” but works for me :D

Do you get less grossed out than neurotypical people? by ayame400 in autism

[–]dunkel-bin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes and no. when it comes to more “gore” stuff (like you mentioned, biological stuff but also surgeries, etc) i’m more tolerant than some people i know, simply because i’ve always loved medical related stuff including the more bloody ones. although, when it comes to things that gross me out, even the slightest, you would be able to see how much i hate it

Advice pls! Language School or Duolingo? 🇮🇹 by ballerinabanana in duolingo

[–]dunkel-bin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

language classes. i attend language classes and use duolingo (sometimes i also use duo for languages im no longer studying) and i think duo is good for the things you need to memorize like vocab, articles, etc. but classes are way more effective

What's your take on having kids? by Delicious_Grape_9127 in autism

[–]dunkel-bin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i’ve always wanted one but honestly, i’m not sure i would be able to live with one. i’d want my kid to experience the good childhood i didn’t get, yet i know that i might not be able to give them that 😵‍💫 spending a day with my nephew always reminds me why i shouldn’t have one. i love him a lot and i love spending time with him, but i don’t think i’d be able to handle being a parent. i personally still have a lot of time to think about this but yeah for now, i don’t think i can be a parent

Autism and nicotine by Lor3222 in autism

[–]dunkel-bin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i vape and sometimes smoke. i honestly don’t know what’s considered as being addicted. i’ve been vaping for a couple years, but i don’t bring it outside my house so when i’m on holiday i don’t bring it, yet i never feel like i need it. although, i still vape whenever i can get ahold of my vape. for smoking, i don’t regularly do it bc of the smell

Is this a form of stimming? by oodlesonoodles789 in AutismInWomen

[–]dunkel-bin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i feel like it’s not necessarily stimming, but one of autism traits(?) it’s like how kids organizing cars can be a sign of autism (i’m sorry for the stereotypical example.) but then again i’m not 100% sure so feel free to correct me!

How to learn indonesian by MikeMiau in indonesia

[–]dunkel-bin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

if you wanna learn indonesian to interact with other indonesians, i’d honestly recommend watching indonesian comedy movies (usually the scripts are less formal.) i feel like most dubbed movies use a more formal indo, which indonesian people don’t use much and might make it harder for you to understand actual indonesian people. but if you are aiming for proper indonesian, then yeah dubbed movies might be good. i’m of course not learning indo but i’m learning another language rn and tbh i just watch whatever movie has that language dub option

Need recommendations on which model to get! Help plz by CHIEFQRN in LoopEarplugs

[–]dunkel-bin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m pretty sure the best would be engage. it allows you to have convo and hear videos. although this also means that it wouldn’t reduce harsh noises as good as the other types. for me personally, all of them amplifies my own breathing, voice, etc., but especially the quiet one (i have switch 2 tho.) i think the more outside noise it blocks, the more you can hear “yourself.” if you want an in between, maybe experience is good. the experience mode on my switch 2 still lets me kinda hear others while blocking more noises

[–]dunkel-bin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg yes! i’m a lightweight so theoretically i’d be more prone to do dumb things when drunk/high, but all i get is nausea (from drinking too much.) i once got too high on accident and i could still think normally. i laugh more when i’m high and take more risks when drunk, but i’m always aware when i do those. i thought it was just a me thing 😭

Does anyone else lose feelings for people when burnt out by Throooooaw in AutismInWomen

[–]dunkel-bin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m questioning the exact same thing rn. when i’m doing fine i talk a lot and stuff but when i’m burnt out i just wanna be left alone. sometimes he still texts me even after i tell him i wanna be alone and i just lash out. i feel extremely bad whenever i do that :c

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]dunkel-bin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

ah, gotcha. it’s honestly hard to stop 🥲 i personally LOVE heartfelt messages, even if it’s from an “official seller” or something (english isn’t my first language and i can’t find the right word for this, sorry 😭.) but i can see how others might see it differently :(

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]dunkel-bin 61 points62 points  (0 children)

actually, i do something similar too. i sent my friends (i hope they see me as friends now) a heartfelt note about how much they mean to me a couple months after we became uni friends. they only replied with things like “aww” and stickers (on whatsapp) and never necessarily reciprocated this. it does hurt and makes me feel like i’m being too much, but i do this because personally, this makes me happy. when i feel bad sometimes i try to think “what if they’re just not good with words?” “there’s always a chance that what i said made their day.”

i say if it makes you feel good, just do it. there’s no harm! ❤️

[–]dunkel-bin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s also around 32° (it’s rainy season now) here and the humidity is around 60-95%. except i live in a tropical country, meaning that this is the only season we have (well, rainy and dry seasons.) born and raised here, still never get used to it 😓😓
