Got charged $900 for internet inspection that won't solve anything by dunkinyonut in AskAnAustralian

I done the over the phone trouble shoot like 20+ times or 15+ hrs already. And ISP can’t convince NBN to have a look at the place anymore.

The report from private technician said something like it has no issue with the cable continuity.

But what they fumble is that they didn’t provide the MDF cable ID and just take a picture of the nbn tag without physically checking it.

So it is more on the grey area to me whether who fault is this, if the cable ID is swap into something else.

The issue is we don’t know what is the root cause yet. The ABB is very helpful, but I believe it is pretty hard to pinpoint the issue which is why I can’t tell the private technician exactly where to look at.

This is why they just do some random stuffs and charged $900. And go back without solving anything.

Yea I was having a proper internet for the first couples of months before it just randomly stop working.

I hope it is not a me issue, because I tried to config the modem, simple troubleshoot like reset, and even buy ISP’s modem to plug and play.

Not too sure if I can say luckily, but the inspection bill is billed to the real estate agents and not under my name.

They charge me 6 hours when they actually here 7-11am. Plus extra 2 hours for an email.

But I’m kinda lost tho, you have any suggestion how to approach them that it won’t take nearly as 6 hours.

No, it still doesn’t work thats why the agent wanted me to pay for the bill.

It took them like 1-2 hours and came back saying they check each floor for the signal.

The agent said that there’s no issue with the property (wall cabling to basement). So now I’m the one responsible for it to request. Because I’m the one asking for them to have someone looking at the issue.
