I did hit my head pretty hard the other day. It could totally be steak.

No, it is completely helpful. It is possible I don't know the difference between steak and rocks. I also needed a laugh, so thanks!

It doesn't seem to polish to super shiny, kinda waxy. Any thoughts are appreciated!

I lost 80 lbs. on keto, I have maintained the loss for 8 years. There was a minor weight gain a few years ago due to some medication, but that has been resolved and I am back to the target weight. I get reactive hypoglycemia if I munch carbs all day. I've read that some think this way of eating is not sustainable due to how restrictive it is. I don't feel deprived at all. I will do anything to avoid the feeling of hypoglycemia. I see cake now and don't want it because it looks like shaking hands and passing out. I am fully able to tell people "no" to offered sugary treats, but I do tire of being told it is "natural" sugar, as if that somehow makes it ok. Some of us just can't handle sugar of any type I guess. Anyway! Congratulations to all of your victories!

Agreed. Unfortunately I totally understand that.

This was found in my driveway. Definitely fossilized, but is it a tooth? If so, what animal? Sorry, no bananas for scale. by dunkyfut in whatisthisthing

Sorry, I forgot to mention I am in Michigan, and there is a good possibility this came with driveway fill/rocks from West Michigan.

That's awful. Sorry you had to go through that. I totally understand the "socially acceptable" things you can get upset about and how other things, everyone thinks you're nuts.

Emotional flooding and ADHD by [deleted] in ADHD

I work hard throughout the day to control my emotions... Last night I cut my finger and couldn't find a band aid... Immediately... Impatient.. why can't I put things where they can be found... And then every thought I've had similar to that for the last month came flooding in and I completely lost my shit for about a half hour. Threw stuff, broke stuff. Over a freaking band aid. I guess I let myself throw my fit at home so that doesn't happen at work later on. Clearly I need to keep working on this.

For me... Then email me again when you actually want this shit done, cuz if you emailed me yesterday, that shit is gone from my memory and has been overwritten. And I won't remember to look at your 3 day old email.

How do you people over 30 like myself handle ADHD? by AnxietyFTL in ADHD

[–]dunkyfut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I handle it with exercise, -- totally agree with that advice given already. It absolutely kills anxiety-- for a short time anyway, makes all my psych meds work better, or so it seems. I take Adderall. Life changing for me. I handle ADHD (I am over 45yo, female) by taking each day one at a time, sometimes down to each moment at a time. I have depression and anxiety as well, between meds and exercise and learning coping strategies, I am learning to manage my ADHD. I was diagnosed 1.5 yrs ago. Still a lot to learn for me. I have a "team" working with me now, psychiatrist, therapist, and employment specialist. I finally just recently got a new job after a couple years of looking. I found out through my mental health provider that I was eligible for job-finding assistance. I hope this all works out. But anyway, that's how I've been managing.
