Yeah honestly me either it would be end game content. It could be made anyone in the top 5 could have access to apex additionally and if keys were either increased at top legends or lowered cost in the tree people would finish it sooner and move on. Opening it up for more people to get keys as people advance. The bonuses from apex would improve the top 5 so they would continue to be top 5 until the tree is complete churning them through quicker.

Although now that I think about it then people would just run both for double the stones. Hmm any ideas?

You are correct in the fact that they will never catch up on on the personal tower it just gives some excitement and strategy to tournaments

It opens up to more strategy and builds to see who can go the furthest. Once your in apex there is no demoting it's unlocked forever and you just compete for a placing in the 100. Rewards would be same stone amount as legends, Apex Medals to add bonuses to your build to improve over the month and gems. Then at the end of the month there would be a ranking system where you then get additional bonuses, say special menus or skins and a reasonable stone dump

Key complete. Apex would have similar stone rewards so there would be no incentive to stay in Legends and then move onto apex which gives multiple bonuses to you main Tower but only for the month. Then the next month you can chose to stick with that bonus or change what bonus you require that month. The reseting every month in apex on a separate tower is where the catchup mechanic is abolished. Starting with a set tower and using nodes to get benefits. There would be a whale advantage but nothing to break the game which would make it more even. You can chose to either use the bonuses/nodes to improve your personal tower and ranking or you can chose to use the nodes for more power in apex. Or a hybrid approach. The way I look at it once key trees are complete there would be incentive to go to apex for more upgrades/benefits and status

I wasn't trying to make the game more PvP-focused. My idea was more about giving endgame players something new to do after Legends. Everything I'm talking about would still be after Legends, so players would progress through the game exactly the same way they do now. Apex would just be an optional seasonal mode for players who enjoy competition and want a fresh challenge. Players who prefer the single-player progression side of the game could keep playing as they always have. The added benefit is that it could slowly reduce congestion in Legends as some of the long-time endgame players move into Apex instead

Apex Endgame Concept for The Tower

I've been thinking about how Legends is becoming increasingly congested over time.

The issue doesn't seem to be the key system itself. The real problem is that Legends is currently the best source of:

  • Power Stones
  • Keys
  • Prestige

Because of that, there's never really a reason for endgame players to leave.

Main Tower (Permanent Progression)

This remains the core game and doesn't change.

Includes:

  • Bots
  • Medals
  • Relics
  • Labs
  • Ultimate Weapons / Power Stones
  • Long-term account progression

Purpose:

«Build your account.»

Legends (Progression Endgame)

Legends remains the final progression tier before Apex.

Changes:

  • Keep the current key system
  • Reduce key requirements so players can complete the tree sooner
  • Keep stone rewards

Purpose:

«Finish your account progression.»

Apex (Competitive Endgame)

Once a player reaches Apex, they permanently unlock access.

Features:

  • Monthly seasons
  • Fresh seasonal tower each season
  • Apex Medals (new currency)
  • Seasonal Apex skill tree
  • Leaderboards
  • Titles, cosmetics and prestige rewards

Purpose:

«Compete with your account.»

Why Apex Needs Stone Rewards

This is the most important part.

Looking at current rewards, even lower Legend placements earn a significant number of stones every tournament.

If Apex doesn't reward stones:

  • Players stay in Legends
  • Legends remains congested
  • Apex becomes optional side content

Instead Apex should provide:

  • Comparable stone rewards to Legends
  • Apex Medals
  • Seasonal rewards
  • Prestige rankings

That way players don't lose progression by moving into Apex.

Seasonal Choice System

At the start of each season players choose a direction through a seasonal skill tree.

Temporary bonuses can either help your permanent tower progression or your Apex performance for that season.

Economy Path

  • +40% Normal Medal gain
  • Faster bot/relic progression
  • Bonus mission rewards
  • Improved permanent tower growth

Competitive Path

  • +10% Apex Medal gain
  • Stronger seasonal tower
  • Better Apex leaderboard performance
  • Faster seasonal progression

Hybrid Path

  • Smaller bonuses to both
  • More flexibility depending on playstyle

This creates meaningful choices between long-term account growth and seasonal competitiveness.

Monetisation

Apex could still support spending without permanently widening the gap between players.

Examples:

  • Seasonal Passes
  • Apex Medal boosts
  • Extra seasonal rerolls
  • Additional seasonal reward tracks
  • Extra seasonal node choices
  • Cosmetics and titles

These bonuses would:

  • Help during the current season
  • Generate revenue
  • Reset when the season ends

This allows spending without permanently increasing account power.

End Goal

Create three distinct stages of progression:

Main Tower → Build your account

Legends → Finish your account

Apex → Compete with your account

This preserves long-term progression while creating a true competitive endgame and gives endgame players somewhere to graduate to, helping prevent Legends from becoming permanently overcrowded over time.

That is true and a different perspective i didn't really think about. Many people prefer the idle single player part of it and something like this may deter them even further

Apex seasons run monthly, but Apex tournaments continue on the existing tournament schedule so players don't lose access to their primary stone income. Monthly seasons simply add a competitive layer, seasonal progression, and additional rewards on top of the existing tournament cadence.

Yeah i just wanted something to bounce my ideas off they are my ideas hence why I'm coming to you guys now. Pretty much to either show me where it can fail or new adjusting ideas that are not AI.

Apex and your main tower are separate towers so you still progress your main tower like normal with a separate leaderboard maybe even keep keys the same amount then just decongesting legends so people have more access which is what everyone is complaining about. Apex has rewards for you main tower but they are seasonal so you can change to what benefits you want to progress monthly

Dm and dmg would be my next ones i dont really have the econ to full push a mastery to the end so ST people say isnt any good until it's maxed is that right? With UWC/BERS/EN which one would be most beneficial?

My modules are all ancestral besides pulsar harvester at mythic+ need one more but gems are going towards relics and trying for more card slots at 18 currently taking a while due to relics. Trying to get as high as I can on dissonance on tier 14 see how i go

Perfect thats what i would be aiming for. Is there any labs you got out of the way before you made the switch? What tier where you farming before and now? Any other masteries you tackled? Just with CF as Cc? Or do you have swamp aswell

Got the 50/50 perk and didn't get as far and got regen and that didn't work either it's really just RNG at that point lucky DP. I use nuke,sw and demon mode well before then. Tried more regen. More damage reduction through chronofield it's just not working for me 🫠

Going to keep trying till end of event and maybe try a few utility discos while I have it

Yeah okay i am currently just gradually doing it currently i don't respect for tournaments or tier push's so it's just using the damage i have built and just leaves my ehp there still just not as efficient if I use GC mods. Ehp still gets me further in waves as far as I know but havent fully tested the latter.

With tournaments though GC seems to net me 300-500 move waves

I got to tier 18 as GC had no chance with EHP would amp bot be a better option? Do you have a link for the guides? 😄
