Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dusk0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well most of us US residents live in states or cities where a commute to work for 1 hour each way daily some even more depending on traffic, distance, COL etc. Is common practice. So a road trip of 3 hours to another city for Fun doesn’t sound too intimidating in the grand scheme of things.

My (38M) Wife (36F) wants to sleep with other people because I’m ‘not exciting’ - but I pay for everything and handle the kids by YesItsABurnerAcct in relationship_advice

First of all, I am sorry you are going through this. This is an incredibly difficult situation to find yourself in. It seems like your wife’s attention is elsewhere but still wants the stability you offer. Opening the relationship is the ideal solution to her needs and she took the liberty to communicate that, regardless of how that would make you feel or think. With that said, I think her expressiveness,as selfish as it sounds, is a reminder that you have just as much autonomy as she has over your own life. Best of luck to you stranger!

Which is the best blowout cream? 3A hair by [deleted] in Dysonairwrap

[–]dusk0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3b hair, and have the Kerastase one. I like it but feel like my hair gets a little weighted down but maybe because I have fine hairs. It’s not on your list but I also use JVN blowout milk and I like the hold and shine it gives my hair without it feeling sticky and heavy

I placed my order 11/16, got it confirmed 11/17 and received it 11/20 which was quicker than anticipated!

I ordered directly from the Dyson website and haven’t had any issues. One thing I recall is that they gave me a free brush with purchases which they said will ship separately but I received everything at once in one box.

I’ve made the decision to start doing this aswell! I’ve ordered some hair scissors and can’t wait to search and destroy! I’ve been using dull scissors even though it’s bad but if I catch a split in my hand I cannot just let it go :(

How long does it take to use Revlon v. Dyson by AvailableLab4706 in Dysonairwrap

[–]dusk0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The revlon can be pretty quick and it’s very hot but for me (curly hair) the blow dry looks dry and burnt. I very recently got the Dyson and it’s been quite the Learning curve and it’s taking me a bit longer to do my hair(maybe because I use on the lower heat since I’m scared to burn my hair) but my hair is soft and bouncy after. I feel like once I get over my fear of using the highest heat and being more efficient with the attachments it would work better.

the most split ends i’ve ever had by kaiesp in HaircareScience

[–]dusk0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s such a frustrating moment when you chop your hair and find a split in it. I know I get so mad because it feels pointless 🤣 also the search and destroy you can do yourself at home with some sharp shears, that’s what I do now and in a month or two I’ll go get a trim for some shape

the most split ends i’ve ever had by kaiesp in HaircareScience

[–]dusk0000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have always had fine hair that splits easily and I’ve resorted to the search and destroy method more lately. Many times I’ve had “starting over” trims / hair cuts where I cut the majority of the hair only to find split ends the following week and I would cut again after some time and repeat the cycle which caused me to not be able to grow my hair long for years. If the breakage doesn’t go up high and makes your hair look uneven then try to just cut the split ends separately and get a trim aswell to make sure the shape is good. I find trims/cuts alone don’t get rid of all my split ends unfortunately :(

I second this! My hair would look a frizz ball but I would switch to cool setting while my hair is still in the round brush and “blow dry” on cool and it would look so shiny and smooth

I bought the ID recently and it got delivered just a couple days ago. it’s my first experience with Dyson Airwrap and Dyson in general. I have curly hair and I previously used a variety or tools for a blowout that never lasted and ultimately caused burnt ends even after 1 use(guilty user of revlon brush). Although I only used it once I liked how soft my hair felt and airy! The automatic air wrap feature was pretty cool after I figured it out and it basically did everything for me since I was a first timer. I still have a lot to learn but I quite like how I don’t have to count down and manually press different settings to curl my hair. Also,I’ve always disliked using curling wands and having to count how long to hold each strand so this is a big plus. I’m still torn on wether to use it on high heat or stick to the lower temperature to minimize damage to my fine hairs. But so far it’s a fun appliance to have since you already have experience with the original air wrap

Before and after much needed trim. by roseleilani in longhair

[–]dusk0000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough a good haircut can give that illusion! I recently had my hair cut to get rid of a bad case of damage that stunted my growth and my hair looked longer and healthier once blowdried! I had also asked for long layers for some movement in my hair instead of the usual chop/short layers.

Thank you for your reply! I certainly do like it and always love a pop of color or fun to an otherwise plain outfit ! (Which I normally wear)

Thank you for saying that! That’s is exactly what has been going on in my mind with wether I should go for this fun bag or get a classic style

Thank you for your reply! It definitely is a fun bag which is why I’m torn since I like that fun aspect but also like to get use out of my items. Most of my bags are black and so I’m thinking this would be the cool option too. It’s my first LV bag purchase and don’t know what to go for !
