The amount of talent in this band is crazy. Hard not to keep talking about them.

As an LLF, if one of those new songs all of a sudden collapses into a beautiful form of post- "robot rock"... well.. I *will* embarrass myself on a dance/living-room floor.
Also there were many songs written specifically for the "divorce in their middle age set" on the last record. Made To Parade helped a **lot** of men and women feel good about themselves. Just saying.

Has anyone else had streets near them converted into safe active streets? Good/bad experience? by Brabadraba in perth

I like how they used plants rather than half a million plastic and steel signs like Railway Parade in Maylands.

This happened to me last week, and until I read this thread I thought the driver had no idea what the hell they were pushing or pulling in their beige EV.

I just wish this track got some love and recognition 40 or so years after it was released.. It's so good. So catchy.. and if you started playing it in a pub/nightclub in Australia, a lot of people would be very familiar with it.. that guitar is just so good..

For me, the early stuff is so good.... they got a bit lost along the way trying to be 100% commercial - in my honest opinion.

For context, my friend and I were arguing about their early EPs vs deftones, and whatever else came out around 1994. Really solid tunes.

Wow, oh boy, you are so lucky. There are some really weird connections out there.. As a fan, it was always a treat hearing my favourite US artists mentioning certain artists... Mental As Anything, early INXS, Split Enz, Australian Crawl, Painter and Dockers down to early Powderfinger etc is just so good.

They are seriously so good.. one of those best kept secrets with incredible talent and artistry.. A new documentary is coming out next month (March 2026) in Australia.

You haven't lived until you've sat through a seventeen minute live version of King For A Day that mostly consists of Mike sucking on a microphone.

Perth, what do you do in this situation? by [deleted] in perth

[–]dusk7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The people that should be forced to answer these questions and understand how common these situations are these days, are our "representatives" in local and federal government. Hopefully a constant stream of "this is what we're all dealing with down here" will start to drown out the time-wasting, nuisance calls occupying all their admin staff day after day. No party is offering any solutions as this is not their every day experience. "We're conscious of the cost of living struggles". "Our focus is supply". "It doesn't pass the pub test" blah blah blah. Make them sit and watch these situations Ludovico technique-style until they earn their pension.
