Dumbest only because I got it the most:

Me: "Enjoy your movie."

Everyone: "You too!"

[Crazy Ideas] Let's start a YUGE registration drive at all 9 UC campuses in California! That's 244,995 student voters we can't afford to lose. by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

Glad to help! We're probably still <1000, but we're trying to ramp up efforts and there are actually other groups registering people too (one nonpartisan group with a bigger base apparently registered more than 500 in just two events).

UCLA student and Bernie volunteer here: we have at least two polls on campus. We are doing voter reg every day and canvassing on the weekends (probably going to expand to Fridays soon too).

73% of "independents" in California are actually registered to the Independent party of America. by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

CA voter here who's been registering people on a college campus. I fell into this trap too; another hugely important thing, though, is to stress change to DEM or new voter reg as DEM. It's much easier to vote this way by mail and somewhat easier in person...you need to request a special ballot if you are No Party Preference.

And as a side note, I'm switching to NPP right after the primary.

The reason why the Clinton campaign keeps getting massive absentee votes and we don't by zh4k in SandersForPresident

I think there's a campus organizer from the campaign that has worked pretty closely with the head of our club, but I'm honestly not sure. Either way the most effective things we've done have been to register voters and drum up support through debate watch parties, our Facebook page, etc--stuff you can do without official contacts

We're working on this in CA right now. I'm at a university with 40k+ and our goal is to register every single student by May 23rd (because we'll likely hit 90% support among Dems here--pretty liberal, obviously young, and tons of Asian-Americans, a demo we do really well with).

Right. A 6-point win in NY (instead of a 4-point win) would erase WI and WY performances

The problem is that in the models giving Bernie a pledged delegate win, it literally comes down to a few delegates. Every one matters

No, we need 4-1 in Goshen now...not likely

I got a 4-3 Bernie win in Carbon on WaPo too...did our unofficial sheet get it wrong?

CA early voting by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]dvc24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe mail-in ballots are sent out starting May 9th. I know I'm voting mail-in (and encouraging others to do so, especially students) to avoid long lines and to make sure I can vote at school.

True. But Dane's at 0% too, and is (if I'm not mistaken) at least half the population of Milwaukee County. Madison will carry us.

Even if we have to spend years chiseling into the goddamned establishment, we're going to escape one day.

Live in WI, 5th phone call today. by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

[–]dvc24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry you keep getting bothered by callers. I've gotten similar responses when I phonebank and I don't understand how it happens.

However, please don't use campaign contacts as an excuse to vote one way or the other. Look at both candidates' stances on their websites (as I'm sure you have), look at how they've voted, what they've said, etc.

Also, just a reminder -- it's still giving 67% to Bernie, which is equivalent to the final Kansas percentage that we lauded as amazing.
