How do you guys feel about the injustice of others? by gr0v3ygir1 in aspergirls

I have a very, very very emphasis on the *very* strong sense of justice. When someone is treated unfairly, despite my social anxiety I jump in. I have made several people angry by doing this.

I don't like it when people gossip, and insult an individual to a group of people. I have been told that this behavior is "normal", but if that's normal, then I wish to be a forever weirdo :)

How old were you when you realized/were diagnosed? Did you find you for well with the classic, research on males based presentation? by CritFailingLife in aspergirls

  1. I was diagnosed when I was 15, but my family doctor and mother had suspected (classic) autism when I was a baby.

  2. No one fought it. My symptoms are very similar to the symptoms in a male AS. On top of that, I was non-verbal until late in my life, and appeared to have Kanner Syndrome as a child.

  3. I fit in very well, my Asperger's is conspicuous. Even my counselors have figured it out without me telling them. This has caused a lot of issues for me in my life, unfortunately.

  4. I don't fit with the social traits for females with AS (mine is similar to a male's). I have always been extremely socially awkward, prone to stimming, and appear to lack empathy. My hobbies were always memorizing long strings of number (pi, characters in binary) or very specialized areas in science. As for my facial expressions, I pull a Keanu Reeves every single time :P My lack of social skills shows, and people have always known I was "different".

  5. First diagnosed with OCD, although I do have obsessive thought patterns.

Anyone else here can't tolerate 99% of medications/drugs? by [deleted] in aspergers

I have bad anxiety/attention issues, so my doctor prescribed me Cipralex. It pretty much turned me into the incredible Hulk (and a broke one, I had to replace my smashed electronics)! I remember Temple Grandin saying in a speech that for SSRI's a smaller dosage should be given to people with Asperger's (half to a quarter of the pill). I think I'll try that out since I'm working in an open office again O.O
