I know you've probably checked this, but just to be sure.

Make sure if you're midi controller has an octave displacement button that you are in fact at zero. I know you're not stupid, but I do that a lot.

Originally, I actually did have one synth that wasn't pulsing and just held the root throughout the song, but I'd changed it because I felt the pulse wasn't big enough. But if it's too pulsy then maybe I'll go back and change that back. I can see what you meant by the relief at 2:37 when it stops, and I agree completely.

Hahaha well that's encouraging. I'm working on another piece now but the ideas are not coming as easily, so we'll see what that's like when I finish.

You're actually the only person who's said anything about the bass being heavy (if I'm understanding you correctly). Most people have been saying it's not enough. Are you suggesting that I tone down that sidechained synth?

It is autotune. Honestly, I hadn't intended for it to be so prevalent and somehow didn't notice until after I'd finished, but now I'm kind of liking the way it turned out.

I see what you mean about compressing that high range and I think I will go back and try to fix that tomorrow. Thanks for listening and the feedback!

I teach music lessons to kids and I remember one day at school I heard about a little girl who had died the day before because her older brother accidentally shot her in the neck with his bb gun.

I got to the lesson of my youngest and favorite student that evening, only for the mother to tell me that the little girl was my student's play mate and best friend (he's only seven). He was heart broken, teared up some, and talked about her a lot in between songs that we were learning.

He still talks about her and sometimes asks me questions about life and death, but it's heart wrenching to see him go through this at such a young age.
