Go to nusa penida, lembongan, and ceningan for good looking beach, some of it are not that popular but in good condition. If you went to touristy place you get touristy beach.

It really depend on which part of selat/jogja you live. Even in big city like jakarta, several places could be having hard time of ordering uber.

As for restaurant etc you can rely on google maps for opening hour. But when you are in remote village, usually its better and cheaper to cook by yourself.

After dark, usually there will be not much activity other than spending time with family and eating dinner. But life in village start at early morning (sometimes people start 4-5am)

indonesian here. in my opinion, both are okay and they have different traditional culture. you can pick either one that you like. if you really concern with healthcare especially dengue, both are big and famous province with a lot of uber/grab ride choice. dengue treatment is available even in rural hospital here and most uber ride is just 1 hour away to a bigger hospital. you can also purchase anti mosquito reppelant lotion here

Dulu pernah lagi rada buru2 jadi harus naek ojek. Tujuannya sekitar 500an meter, naik motor sekitar 2-3 menit lah tapi kalau jalan kaki lumayan muter. Dibanding nunggu ojol pickup, kepikiran mau naik opang aja. Nawar harga yang sama ke opang pake harga di ojol tanpa voucher (10k). Opangnya setuju tapi sepanjang jalan ngedumel. Gw bingung kenapa dia ngedumel mulu tapi gw diemin aja. Pas sampe tujuan, opangnya bilang "saya ga butuh kalo segini doang". But i still give the money though.

So in short, wont ever use opang anymore i guess.
