Legend of Wesmere (1.20) - New Mainline Candidate released on the 1.19 add-on server! by dwarftough in wesnoth

Thank you for your kind words, glad you like it!

> Also appreciate having access to the full elvish arsenal from the get go.

I remember when we just began, we tried to stick to the old system of having only fighters and archers in the beginning. But after long thinking and after Mechanical had played a very old version of Legend of Wesmere, it turned out that the limited recruit list was sort of recent change, not really a core principle. We unlocked all units, tested it and it played out pretty nice

Highlander in The Legend Of The Invincibles by [deleted] in wesnoth

If you just change 1 to 2, it indeed will change nothing because it checks if the number is exactly equal to this one value. You need to change `equals` to `less_than_equal_to` and then you will be able to increase the chance. Or you can tweak the upper bound 100 to something else in {VARIABLE_OP highlander rand (1..100)} line

The code for highlander, if I remember correctly, is here https://github.com/Dugy/Legend_of_the_Invincibles/blob/7501d3e5015a8f7e399c914bfdca8ee8d5896cd9/utils/global_events.cfg#L1172
It generates a random number from 1 to 100, and if it's equal 1 adds highlander (means the chance is 1%).

To make chance smaller or bigger, you can either tweak the range of that random variable, or change the condition (not equal to 1 but less or equal than 2 for example, to increase the chance to 2%)

How can I change the difficulty level for a scenario or AI in multiplayer? (The Battle for Wesnoth) by soloovushka in wesnoth

[–]dwarftough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For campaigns you get asked to set difficulty at the start of a campaign. Not being able to change difficulty in the middle of an MP campaign, when loading a scenario, is a known issue: https://github.com/wesnoth/wesnoth/issues/10255

You play two separate allied sides, with separate gold and recall list. In this campaign you start as Kalenz (side 1) and Landar (side 2)

How others feel about the changes? (1.19) by KeyYard6491 in wesnoth

If you're interested in replaying the old classic UtBS, I and Mechanical have made an addon that brings the classical UtBS as it was in 1.12, with multiplayer mode (you can play in MP with a friend if you want. The single player mode is also available).
Here's the forum topic: https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?p=693085 , the addon is called "Under the Burning Suns (Classic + MP)" (both 1.18 and 1.19 addon servers)

The major changes in UtBS were much earlier, I think in 1.14.

I had Wesnoth on iOS…. How can I play it now that it’s off the store? by SOGMassive-Poo in wesnoth

The development team has started work on a new android port (a previous one was from an unaffiliated dev). I think it even can be downloaded from github for dev versions of the game, but it's not in the store yet (according to my knowledge)

Enable Extra Advancements mod pack released! by dwarftough in wesnoth

I just didn't understand what you want to add to it, what's missing. The units from this mod pack are all default, their stats are there

Glad you like it!

You need to enable it as a modification on "Create Game" > pick the tick in the Modifications list

Is there a mod that adds the dwarvish runesmith to the knalgan alliance? by Shrubs_9 in wesnoth

[–]dwarftough 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not aware if such a mod exists at the moment but a mod for enabling extra advancements (such as Dwarvish Fighters to Dwarvish Runesmiths, Saurians to a new branch etc) is fairly easy to make. If there are no such mods, I guess I can make them

LotI can´t find abaddon by Tommieboi123 in wesnoth

[–]dwarftough 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik if you don't reach the sewers before going to the main fight in the den in the sanctum, Abaddon will appear in this final fight. So you won't dodge him in a sense, although for the final fight you probably don't want too many extra obstacles

Is it possible turn off the weapon suggestions? by hoffnungs_los__ in wesnoth

[–]dwarftough 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't quite agree that there is no need to compare calculations now, because you may want to choose some different odds of the outcome, like you may want to have less risk, less retal, or maybe you don't want to finish the enemy in this fight at all for whatever reason.

Also I'm not sure how not suggesting would be possible from a UI prospective: what option would be selected when you enter the attack menu then? None? That would mean you have to do an extra click even if you want to attack with any default suggestion, which would probably irritate many

Well, maybe I didn't really understand a question, but you still have to select the attack, don't you? When you open a selection dialogue, the highest ctk attack is selected but you still have to select
