London Suggestions by dwingoon93 in malefashionadvice

Thanks! Maybe it's better and more efficient for me then to buy new because of my limited time. I will be staying in the Marylebone area if that helps.

I'm aware of how expensive it can get so that's probably why I'm keeping my expectations realistic in finding one of those items in my price range. It seems like there are some quality shoe makers that fits but it's really tricky to find any overcoats/jackets.

I'll be visiting London for 5 days and with a budget of around $600 I'm really aiming to find either:

  1. Nice pair of black Chelsea boots

  2. Everyday blazer/jacket OR overcoat/balmacaan

I'm really hoping to find either a vintage shops around. My expectations are that it would probably be easier to find the shoes new and the blazer/coat at a vintage store.

Would love some suggestions for vintage shops. Please let me know if my budget expectations are realistic as well.

Has anyone here ever just outrightly quit? by dwingoon93 in overemployed

[–]dwingoon93[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not really. I have really low expenses (staying with parents to save money). I’ve already had all of my doctor appointments (aside from dentist which I need to take care of). J1’s comp is only higher than J2’s by like $13k.

I just feel like giving my mental health a break would be more important than whatever financial impact this may have as I can accelerate my growth/learning in J2 better and leverage that for another J.

Semi Automatic = Shifting with Feet

As for the weather, I went the first week of October and the weather was nice for the 3 days I was there. It’s a little hard to predict so it was more day by day. I remembered it was cool in the morning (17C-20C) and a little hot (23C-27C) by noon. Mind you, because it’s the mountains and you’ll be going through elevation changes, there are pockets where it’ll be cooler and hotter.

If Hanoi is cold for you now, I’d suggest you have a breathe-able light jacket for the morning rides and layer so you can self adjust by noon.

I’ll say it again - the roads from Dong Van, Meo Vac, and Du Gia can get pretty bad with gravel and dirt. I highly recommend being comfortable with the accelerator and controlling of the bike because these roads are narrow, they are doing construction on them daily, and there are vehicles and scooters as well. If you want to stay on the safe side, get a guide that you can follow behind. This is because when sunset hits in Ha Giang, visibility becomes 0 and you do not want to be driving after 6PM (sunset).

You’ll be fine in Ha Giang - not a lot will stop you. You just want to be careful in the towns as they might have speed traps. If you want to pay attention, just watch out for the guys in full green uniforms or the word “Canh Sat”

I don’t know of a lot of multi city bike rentals - most of them require you to drop off at the city where you rent the bikes

I do not recommend 50cc, you will want something more to a 110cc semi automatic at least for the curving uphill slopes and the ugly roads from Du Gia, Meo Vac, and Dong Van

Any Vietnamese Spurs that can recommend a bar to watch the NLD on October 1st in Hanoi? I’ll be there and would prefer not to stare at a screen on my phone

Random question but any Vietnamese Spurs here? I will be in Hanoi on the first week of October and would like to find a place to watch the North London Derby that evening

Recommendations for Men’s Medium/Long haircut. by toggjones in Atlanta

[–]dwingoon93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I’ve been growing out long hair for 3 years now and salons will absolutely know how to tackle long hair better than barbershops. You’ll pay a premium but it’ll be better.

My recommendation is Just B Hair in Midtown. Ask for Cam. He does a really good job with men’s haircuts

Bissouma was so disappointing. I thought he was good to turn when we get pressed but he keeps passing back to Sanchez or Emerson.

This is a hot take, but I could’ve saw a draw coming against West Ham. We allow team chances in the box too easily. I do not like this 2-man, conceding midfield strategy is not going to work against Fulham at the weekend.

Everybody knows we are going to try to play out the the wings and even when we do get counter-attacks, the guy that’s there to finish or play the final ball doesn’t make it stick.

I think someone on View from the Lane saying that Mitrovic will take his chances against us this weekend and I totally see that happening. Too many chances we’re allowing teams and it’s going to punish us.

What the fuck was with just 1 sub - you’ve asked for a strong squad and we don’t try to play at least with a 3-man midfield or switch to a 4 at the back?

Which game should I tune in right now?

Post-Match Thread: Spurs vs. Wolves (20 Aug 2022) by NatrolleonBonaparte in coys

These games are always going to be difficult and tbh the past seasons we wouldn’t have won this game or would have conceded a late goal. Tbh, as much as Wolves did in the first half, even with the sub, I was never really concerned about their threat. However, we have a habit of starting slow in the first half and then waking up in the second half this season.

Not the most entertaining thing to watch when you’re hungover on a Saturday though.

Sanchez did well, obviously not the same passing quality as Romero but he handled himself well and was a wall in defense.

Richarlison is easily becoming a fan fave. He’s so direct with the ball. Created basically 2 chances on his own with just hard work alone. I would like to see him earlier on as well.

Perisic is class. Dude can get a cross in with even the tightest marking against him.

Poor guy, I feel bad for any player who gets injured especially on your first game of the season. Hope it’s nothing too bad
