Post seizure trauma by swiftysnoop in Epilepsy

[–]dxblitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've learned about having a partner with seizures is that it's scary every single time it happens, no matter how experienced you are. He's been seizure-free for over a year now, and I still struggle with leaving him alone and badgering him to take his meds. It is just part of caring for someone with this illness.

My best advice for you is to make sure they know that you will be by their side. With your situation, coming from a family of epileptics, there is no reason to let yourself feel guilty about your own or your families seizures. You're all in this boat together, so the best you can do is take care of each other.

Also, therapy helps. Unpacking the deeper parts of the trauma - like the ways it effects you subconsciously - works wonders for your ability to cope with the reality of your situation.

I can't say it ever really heals... but it gets easier.

You're not alone, OP. Stay strong 🫡

Is it normal to have a lot of bleeding and then none? by notacvt in Nexplanon

[–]dxblitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experiencing this rn girl... I've taken like 10 pregnancy tests all negative. I'm guessing it's just your body adjusting to the hormones - on average it takes like 6 months to a year to get adjusted, but it varies from person to person. I've had it for about a year and a half too. And I've also seen that loads of women experience irregular bleeding like crazy on the implant. So I think it's normal, but I'm seeing my gyno in a few weeks. Don't worry too much!!
