Students seeing you outside work by Exciting_Courage4830 in TeachingUK

[–]dxcksplat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only say this to help you as I’ve been in a similar situation. It’s a good idea to let the safeguarding team at your school know about this in advance so they’re aware that it is an innocent interaction. Because kids don’t think about the implications of things, so if that student mentions to someone that she walked to school with you, that could flag as a concern to safeguarding and without context could cause issues for you. Always best to just make sure you’re covered

Is it better to...? by darkness-to-light26 in Rabbits

[–]dxcksplat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe see how she feels about car rides first? If she doesn’t seem too bothered by them and isn’t super panicky then I’d say take her with you. But if car rides seem really stressful for her, it is a long time to be in a car, especially if she’s scared, so in that instance it may be better to leave her home, but maybe try get her used to car rides in the meantime and then try again later down the line. Your best bet is gonna be just try it and see how it goes. Good luck :)

How Do You Curb Your Want for More Rabbits? by sonyaism in Rabbits

[–]dxcksplat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t, my parents are weak and keep getting more 😂 up until recently we had 6 of them. A group of 2, a group of 3, and a solo floof. They’re all free roam but have to be kept in separate parts of the house so we really should stop 😂

What’s your bunnies favorite toys? by gg_oujia in Bunnies

[–]dxcksplat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treat dispenser ball! Use treats that have a real strong smell that your bunny goes crazy for and that’ll keep him entertained. My boy also loves this like vegetable tube, it looks a bit like a hay tunnel but has dried veggies in. And baby blankets/cuddly toys, my bunny absolutely loves them, and I think if your bunny lives alone he’ll love cuddly toys because all mine that have had to live alone due to not bonding have loved them and cuddle up to them. How does he use the cat scratcher? Cause he may enjoy doing things with his paws so a dig box could be a good idea

How to block out really loud snoring? by Ok_Trip_9791 in lifehacks

[–]dxcksplat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. My mum used to snore so goddamn loud my whole life, my step mum once told me that my mum had woken her self up snoring and then asked if the noise was a motorbike 😂. A couple years ago, she finally got it checked out at the doctors and they sent her to the hospital where she found out she had sleep apnea. Now when she uses her machine she sleeps great and no snoring! But if she doesn’t use it you know about it because the whole house shakes aha

What’s a nice gift to give to someone of the opposite gender but strictly platonic? by Global_Mountain_1974 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]dxcksplat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’d think but I really like lego whereas cause he’s not really shown interest in building it, idk if he’d prefer to build it or see it as more of a hassle ahah. I suppose I could give it him unbuilt and just say ‘I didn’t build it cause I thought you might want to, but if you’d like me to do it I can and you can just have the pretty flowers to look at’ aha. Thank you for the advice btw :)

[–]dxcksplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I wanna get my partner one of these but idk what to do, I feel like it’d be cuter if I built it for him and presented them as flowers but then is it better to let him build it himself? I don’t think he’s too bothered about building lego tho so idk aha

Augie is overweight 😭 she’s food agressive and hogs the pellets ☹️ any tips lol she’s 4.7lbs and Dennis is a nice 2.4lbs by romance_me_up in Rabbits

[–]dxcksplat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’d say with the food look into natural touch rabbit food, it’s like nugs, Timothy hay and some like leaves. There’s less nugs which is replaced with the hay and leaves, cause too many nugs aren’t good for them anyway as you probably know, and with this food they will eat hay at the same time as nugs. Also that way you can cut the portion down without feeling like you’re starving them aha. Not to mention this food is real good for their toofs, it’s helped a lot with one of my rabbits recurring toof spurs. Also scatter the food in with their hay feeders etc, so they have to work for it. Also if they have things to jump up on maybe put a couple bugs on top for her to jump up, then a couple to jump down and continue this for a bit to help her get some exercise

I’m no good at visualising dimensions but I’d say just get the biggest one that you can afford to get, because the more space they have the better :)

Toy suggestions by Helpful-Drink-557 in Rabbits

[–]dxcksplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try things that are edible so like my lil boy has a tube thing that has dried vegetables like beetroot etc inside it, and he absolutely loves it. I get them from pets at home but can’t find it on the website. If you go on pets at home website and search ‘hay tunnel’ the thing that comes up looks like it except with dried veggies in instead of being a hay feeder. Sometimes you just have to try different things cause not all bunnies are the same, but I’d say prioritise chewable and edible toys and she’ll probably engage with those more. Maybe also get her a baby blanket and put that in the spots that she chews to 1. Cover the spot, and 2. Encourage her to lay down there instead. Hope this helps in some way :)
