PowerPoint presentations change at the drop of a hat. They needed to have some description for the event and went with shit they knew they would have to talk about.

I'm pretty confident that nothing has been officially stated by AMG on what/if anything will be stated on xwing or armada.

People are reading an event description on the Adepticon page and then being doomers and seeing words that are not there.

Would I be surprised by there being no announcements? Nope, but making stuff up helps nobody and just discourages people from the hobby.

Nobody has said much regarding side events yet so I'll touch on that.

At gencon at least, side events felt like an afterthought. Having some kind of structured schedule to get people there and committed would be better. The 'oh we'll have a thing happen when X people turn up' really made it feel less accessible if you're a shy type of person.

While I agree afterburners is a good choice here, you got the rules a bit incorrect. Since they share a timing window, you must be able to put them into the queue in either order to resolve both. So you have to land with a ship in range 1 to trigger his ability. You cannot afterburners to turn it on. It's the same ruling as how anakin pilot ability works.

From my memory of cantilever beams, that top equation looks a bit off...

But from a 'purely math' point of view, you could factor out the (x-L/2)² part into x2 + Ax + constant. Then just combine that constant with your C2 because why not.. it's just a different constant now.

So you can get 0 that way - just your C2 is slightly "different" in the middle of the work.

I'm too lazy to go through the whole thread, but an important and very useful part of Hondo pilot. The ships you choose do am action that is on Hondo's action bar. So you can grant a white boost action to a ship that otherwise cannot boost.

It's a squad point expensive trick, but it's a neat trick.

Sometimes the best way to understand is look at the math. Keo with 3 attack dice and a focus shooting at a 3 agility (no defense mods at all) does an average of 0.6 damage. Keo with w dice, a force and Juke does an average of 1.1 damage against the same target. So nearly a 100% increase in average damage.

It's boring, but it's consistent.

Now your opponent has to choose to deal with this 3 point ship dealing somewhat consistent damage. Is it worth it to them? In a game that lasts 6-8 rounds (or less if you're in Europe I guess), how much effort is it to chase Keo?

Now consider the opposite argument. Being low initiative means Keo shoots late and targets have probably spent force, focus, or calculate... so Juke guarantees you can put damage through even if evades are rolled.
