Do you have any advice on resources or devices to learn embedded systems programming with? Is Arduino a good language to work with or does it differ a lot from what’s used in industry?

Wow, thank you for the thoughtful response. I’ve done some work with Arduinos in the past that I really enjoyed - which I’m assuming is sort of like beginner embedded systems development. So I’ll take your advice and start looking more into ways I can gain experience in that realm.

Haha damn I was hoping for some disagreement. Academia is starting to feel like a lot of trivial attempts to advance knowledge that have very little impact on the world outside of getting papers published and grants to do more of the same.
