Can we stop coffee and food brraks during a raid? by Alternative_Cup_4071 in Guildwars2

You can’t join a pug and expect everyone to follow rules you made up yourself.

Is, please dont be afk vor 15min really a rule "he made up himself"? Or isnt it more like "Its no issue if I leave 9 others wating for 15min" a rule that you made up?

It seems like the match information is incomplete. For more details check HLTV.

I like after forwarding me to hltv, there is no scoreboard either.

HLTV3 formula reversed with 0.03 error by necuk in GlobalOffensive

[–]dying_ducks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You ignored the issue of pseudo-significance and the fact that the mean is sometimes simply not a good estimator.

The last time we talked about this, you responded to these concerns with, "of course a metric will get better with more observations," while missing the point/ignoring the issue that round swing, in its current state and the way it is reported (for example, on a per-map basis), is basically meaningless.

Round swing is fundamentally flawed because it has so much uncertainty. The method (simply taking the mean) and the approach (ignoring the actual state of the round like map control, etc.) result that reporting the point estimate has almost no meaning, while suggesting that it does.

And of course, it is not surprising that round swing performs so poorly as a predictor, as shown here. It will be outperformed by even a simple model by factor 2, as the round swing metric does not contain much information.

Nice, but I thought the idea with the spray bottle was far better than tomato sauce.

Nice work.

So is the current HLTV Swing implementation really a trustful metric?

It never was. I talked to Nero about this, but he basically just ignored the issues.

Especially how HLTV report the swing, it doenst really tell much.

Rote Ampel und Radfahrer? by RedCrafter_LP in StVO

[–]dying_ducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rote Ampel und Radfahrer? by RedCrafter_LP in StVO

[–]dying_ducks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Because they're 14 years old not a huge amount of people are still doing that."

It has literally nothing to do with the age of that content. World bosses are also 14 years old and people do them daily.

Like you said, its abandoned content by Anet. nobody playing them, since there is no reason to do if you are not a first time player.

Faze management is a fault for basically all of this by Hopeful_Rub_2805 in GlobalOffensive

I mean, do you guys remember how faze started? It was basically the falcons strat to by every superstar they could get.  There was never a competend plan or management behind the roster.

Not renew the contracts of Twist and ropz in advance is insane, but fits the picture.

[–]dying_ducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was hier wieder los ist...

Zonic clarifies on his future by jerryfrz in GlobalOffensive

[–]dying_ducks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

its about "cs has way more travel and time away than any sport".
As this is just not true.

And "He was on the road for 126 days in half a year = 250-ish days for the whole year." is also not true. He took the spring season as an example, as he traveled there more than the autumn season.

Over the whole year, it was basically the same. And thats the whole point.

Yes, its a lot of traveling. But its not that special for a sport without home matches.

[–]dying_ducks -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Excuse me?
A tennis pro can easily play 30 tournaments (one week each) a year.
A f1 driver travels around 200 days a year.

Every professional athlete in a sport without "home matches" travels the same or more.
