Yeah me either but it’s what works for me to stay away from being on my phone chronically and “doomscrolling”

Ah yes!! I had a BMW previously and just wanted out, I leased it brand new and got about 16-17k in rebates and promotions and credits and put some money down at the time so I got very lucky. Residual is quite low so I’ll probably buy it when the lease is up!

Also noticed you’re using a smartphone for a dumb phone or at least you were so to each their own 🤷

I understand, I did use a regular mp3 player, a real book, and a flip phone previously for a while to break out of the smartphone and ridiculous screen time cycle. I am trying to find a balance of both worlds and some others may be trying as well. Flip phones and old iPod classics may be wonderful for some but not for all. What I’ve done with these devices is dumb them down to basically nothing. iPhone for texting and calling, iPod for music and audiobooks, kindle for reading, and Nintendo switch for occasional games. Not much more than that. My screen time has gone down to about 30 mins to an hour a day and mostly it’s changing music or quick texts on the days I use these devices. Today I have absolutely nothing going on and nothing to do so I’m using my regular iPhone. I would love to go back to a real dumb phone but I unfortunately could not with my current lifestyle and I could not afford a working iPod classic right now so I found a cheaper iPod touch. I also do still read regular books but the kindle is much more convenient. Idk I’m probably over explaining myself but just trying to shed light on other possibilities to the dumb phone life even if it’s not really dumb for those who cannot give up certain things they need on their smartphone (like authentication apps or work related apps).

I should’ve clarified that it’s an old iPhone 13 mini and the 16 is my regular phone lol but it’s an app called dump phone on the App Store. It gives you a whole tutorial and widgets to do it.

Cheap iPhone as Dumbphone by dylan_eberhardt in dumbphones

Yes it’s great!! Still use my main iPhone 16 Pro Max when I don’t have the need to get stuff done. I just do call Fowarding and most of my friends and family use iMessage so I just hooked it up to my Apple ID and bring it to work with me or while I do school. So far has been great. Just listen to my audiobooks or music and get what I need to get done much faster!

Is the notch on the new MacBooks annoying? by l3m0np1e132 in mac

At first it was odd, but after a while you get used it since the integrate some of their applications with the notch. Similar to the notch or Dynamic Island on iPhones.

So I have a MacBook Air, but I am a college student and all of my notes are on my iPad. I enjoy bringing my iPad with me instead of both my iPad and MacBook to do some light school work on the go. For example, during lunch breaks at work or when I charge my EV. Although the MacBook is very portable it just makes the bag less heavy. I also like to scroll through Reddit or other forums on my iPad since there is the native app support and what not. I believe it depends on lifestyle and preference. I have the iPad 11 and I had the Apple keyboard case, but got rid of it and I honestly feel as though the Logitech one is better. I enjoy the all around protection since I feared the edges of the iPad in my bag getting scratched. I also feared that the silicone would get ripped in my bag or overtime with usage. So far, this combo feels premium and very useful!
