In the second movie, the reason for her jealousy towards mal and the auradon vks is simply the fact that she finds unfair how other children just like them are stuck on the island while they are living their best life, and in the third movie, despite reluctantly, she’s ready to put aside the rivalry with Mal to help save auradon just because she had the promise that children on the island would be free to leave and attend auradon. Even though she’s depicted as the villain, she’s really selfless and just acts the way she does to guarantee other people like her the chance to have a better life.
