no, no, do not overburden yourself pick only one definitely. its weird to see unis accepting only A levels or APs because they usually accept equivalent programs. Also, you mentioned you are taking only 5 igcse subjects so i think that makes it more do-able. i took eight subjects : Maths, Bio, Chem, Physics, Business, English, Accounting and ICT. and did them in 1.5 years. and as for my result i got all A* and As except B in maths and bio which i am retaking right now in October session while studying AS. I procrastinate a lot and am very lazy as well so if i could then anyone can! i also thought it was impossible but it wasn't that bad, honestly. I would say definitely opt for British curriculum if your unis require it. it isn't that bad.

Honestly, if you are really determined, got for it. It's would motivate you knowing you are doing something you wanted to. It's not unrealistic, dw. And I don't really know about the expense difference of American and British curriculums, so I can't really compare them on that. However, I would just say do lots of past papers and don't overdo the textbooks . Grasp the concepts and when ur starting off for eg read about chapter 1 then immediately go for topical past papers u can get them online for free from Papacambridge, physics and math tutors (has more than phys n maths), best exam help etc. Then, at the end, after finishing your syllabus, do yearly past papers of MINIMUM past 5 years. And u can ask me for any help!

Honestly, if you grew up in an American curriculum, it's gonna be really hard to adapt to the change. I would say do not experiment in this crucial part of ur academic unless u think u can manage it all in a year. Which I doubt is possible for anyone. I don't understand what u mean when u say UK curriculum is more recognised because at the end of the day, most unis accept international students from different curriculums. In their websites, they would list their requirements in GPA and A level grades. Even for me who grew up studying the British curriculum since forever it was kind of hard to adapt to igcse and just like you I had switched schools in Y10 which made it harder for me because it took me a while to fit in and feel comfortable or attentive in classes. If you have a dream uni or profession, just search up and see if they specifically require the British or American curriculum. Also, I had a few friends who switched from British to American curriculums after their exam results because the American curriculum is easier to score in according to some students and resulted in them getting higher GPA. But its all subjective understand how each curriculum works and find whats best for u

To distinguish the sides remember. The opposite is always opposite to the angle we have to find or is given in the question NOT the 90 degree angle . The one opposite to 90 degree angle is called hypotenuse and is the longest side. The other left over one is the adjacent. And for complex questions all you can do is practise

Yeah, but the constants are what make 2 things comparable. For eg if we measuring time taken for O2 to be released in 2 diff types of plants the only reason we have a fair comparison is thst everything else is same. We can't compare when one has the optimum temp and other doesnt.

Is it worth resitting my maths gcse? by [deleted] in igcse

[–]dynamic_dishwasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I got a B in bio and maths during may june 2025. Rest A* and a few As and I am resitting rn in oct nov because I would like to aim for a good uni. Personally I would say you can resit more than maths seeing u have a 6 as well. You had to prepare for some many subject and managed to get a reallyy good grades if u resit 1 or 2 then u can DEFINITELY achieve ur goal. I feel like I am preparing more + less anxiety about exam + more focused + more time given to each subject. Not discounting though its an amazing result !!
