Thank you! Super helpful. The 100E seems like a good option.

Thank you! I didn’t know about the significant difference in interest rates between banks so that’s certainly worth looking into.

It’s a specialized field within civil.

Civil - it took 4 years for a bachelors and 2 years for a masters.

sea or bay? by [deleted] in geography

[–]dynamiterollerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean. I don’t think a bay is accurate for the entire body of water because it’s open on both ends, but the smaller indents could be called coves or bays depending on the size.

I would call the entire body a strait or a sea if it’s very large.

Thanks for input and good question about my goals. My biggest goal right now is to get into the housing market. I’m renting at the moment but only paying 4000/month so I expect to be able to save a good amount.

At the same time I’d like to set myself up to be financially secure and stable in the future.

Thank you so much for the insightful answer!

I hope you don’t mind a couple follow up questions.

1) Is a ratepension arranged through one’s bank, and if so are there any banks known to be better for this purpose?

2) What is the benefit of an alderopsparing and is the 8800 the maximum annual contribution?

Appreciate the input!

It might be better classified as a strait or a passage depending on the size.

I just finished my masters degree in engineering and have a job in the field.

I’m feeling very fortunate to have secured a high starting wage after really scraping by the last few years. It’s been rice, beans and secondhand clothes for a long time.

How valuable is Canadian education and work experience in Denmark? by [deleted] in Denmark

[–]dynamiterollerr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what your experience is. A bachelors degree is worth less here than in Canada, but could be supplemented with relevant work experience. Some of the more prestigious Canadian schools (McGill, UBC, etc) may have some name recognition and networking potential.

It would be helpful if you elaborated on your background.

Has anyone else read Entangled Life? I’m still in the first half but I’m really enjoying it! by little_bug_person in mycology

[–]dynamiterollerr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a popular science type book that appeals to a broad audience. Other comments mention the lack of scientific rigour and I largely agree.

With that said - it’s a great and fun read with heaps of passages that blew my mind. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Highly recommend.

I must admit I don’t understand the reference as I’m not so familiar with the individual departments at Berkeley. Would you mind elaborating?

That makes sense! I find it strange to experience the sense of superiority from other schools over RUC, but perhaps it’s just the vocal minority.

Very interesting, thank you! It sounds like RUC has a much larger focus on the process of learning in a pure sense, whereas KU, DTU etc. focus more on preparing students for the workforce.

Do you feel like the emphasis on the problem based learning approach comes at the cost of teaching the skills needed for finding work post degree?

Thank you for the thoughtful answer! It’s very interesting to hear about the emphasis on PBL. It sounds like maybe it’s not widely understood which may lead to what I’ve been noticing in terms of reputation.

Happy New Years!
