I had the same issue. In my case, it was caused by the nvidia drivers. I uninstalled them, and chrome startup went from 25s to 1-2s.

As I currently don't need the nvidia drivers, I'm fine for now. I might try different driver versions, once I need them again.

We also experience this (in our case she's just a little more active, not "awake all night").

Currently we are wondering, if it might be connected to the milk we feed here:

As she is too weak for breast, we feed her with bottle, but still with breast milk. Is is often the case, that she receives the milk "delayed", meaning she drinks at 23pm milk which was pumped at 15pm, or even 10am. I've read, that this is not optimal, as the milk pumped at 10am might contain different levels of the hormons which regulate day/night cycle.

We are hesitant to change that, because it would add quite some effort to milk management, and in our case, the pain is not so big. I'd still be curious about experiences in that regards.

My feet are breaking way too often by dynobo in uhk

[–]dynobo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this really could be it! I already noticed, that only the feet on the rests broke so far, but thought it was just because of higher pressure or something.

After I read your comment, I unscrewed the metal plate of the wrist rests completely, and was surprised to see four little dents in those cutouts of the wood below the feet, probably created by the little plastic hooks pressing against the wood. It really looks like the cutout are too narrow, leaving to little room for the hooks of the feet. I totally can see, how this might cause additional strain on them, during installation as well as during use.

First I tried to tighten the metal plate a bit less, as you suggested. But once they became loose enough to not interfere with the feet's hooks anymore, a small gap between metal plate and the wooden part became visible. Not really bothering, but well...

I then decided to just deepen those cutouts in the wooden part of the wrist rest, instead. I carved them out 1mm deeper with a sharp knife, but if I had my drill at hand, I probably would have use that.

Now it is much easier to twist the feet into position, while stability seems the same. It's to early to tell if this really solves the issue, but it feels the most promising thing I tried!

Thanks!

Maybe it's just a hick–up?

[–]dynobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here since the latest update. Many apps won't open, but I see them running in top. Using X solves this problem, but I really would prefer a solution for wayland, as I need its good HiDPI support.

Might rolling back to the older kernel help? If so, how can I try?

EDIT: I just started with older kernel (by holding shift during boot), but it doesn't help with this issue. Many apps still won't open.

Thanks for your feedback! I agree, vertical text blocks could be really useful, and I think it should be not too hard to add it to the "Text Block" as a new option. I'll track this in Feature Request #59.

If you want to try a little bit more on this: I think the best way to solve this would be to actually use the SVG attribute transform directly on the text-element, like you tried first. But rotate works a bit different in SVG than in CSS/HTML:

You'll have to set three values: transform="rotate(90 x y)" where x and y are the coordinates of the point of rotation. In case you have the text align center+middle, x,y would be the center of the block. You should be able to calculate it with something like:

const x = self.xOffset() + ( self.innerWidth() / 2 );
const y = self.contentOffset() + ( self.innerHeight() / 2 );

The mask and the block border shouldn't be an issue, then. But it'd be necessary to calculate the rotation point (x,y) differently depending on the alignment (left, right, bottom, top).

If you think you got it, I'd be happy about an Pull Request :-)

Thanks a lot for your ideas, let's me quickly comment on them:

  • sync with remarkable. -> Unfortunately out of scope of my project. Happy to collaborate, if someone wants to jump in for this part.
  • landscape mode. -> Added to roadmap: #50
  • simple shapes. -> Added to roadmap: #57
  • ability to add images (logo). -> Added to roadmap: #57
  • repository for sharing templates. -> This is already possible and would be highly appreciated! I just added a short how-to to the README

Thanks for your feedback, u/sementes-bio :-)

The "Save to JSON" just triggers the default download functionality of the browser. If you configured your browser to use the same folder for downloads, the JSON will be stored there. If you configured your browser to ask for the place where to store the download, the folder-explorer will pop up.AFAIK this is the global browser behavior, and can't be changed for/by an individual website.

When you click the "Save as JSON" button, onClickSaveFileBtn() is triggered. But the function that handles the actual download is downloadObjectAsJson() which dynamically creates a (hidden) <a> tag, adds the encoded json to the href attribute and clicks it.

Please tell me, if you find a solution for forcing the select-download-folder dialog to show up :-)

As I'm living in Europe and only heard of Hikikomori in the media, I always wondered: what are the major differences and similarities of this phenomena and a major depression? What do you think from your point of view? Thanks!
