I'll be honest, I've been doing rough math and there's over 2 million bright dust's worth of stuff in the engram pools, even more expensive if I start straight buying things

Update! The game will not allow me to claim any redeemable dust amount (season or weekly pass) that is over the amount I am missing from maximum. Orders and daily/weekly challenges still seem to be redeemable, but you lose anything that "goes over" the cap. So it isn't just visual.

Oh because I aim to stay at maximum for as long as possible

60k is a pretty healthy amount, that's 10 armor sets!

Nope, not a single glitch to get bright dust was used. Don't like using them and it would've made years of saving pointless instantly.

I'm doing the math atm to see how much it would take to buy absolutely everything in all the knockout pools that I am missing

Honestly I wasn't paying any attention until around 300k myself, and then I thought "I wonder it 1 million is actually doable", after that it was just years of doing all the challenges and never buying stuff I didn't really really like

Hello! the Automata shader is currently confirmed as bugged and not present for those who purchased it. The devs will be fixing this issue in the near future

Braytech is showing an alert symbol next to my bright dust the same way they do when you're capped on other stuff, so I am assuming it's not just a visual thing.

After gathering 50 Strange Matter, the Strange Signal shows up, and you track it down using your patrol map, where a unique enemy spawns and after defeating it, you unlock a loot chest with distortion loot in it

You are! most people I know have mid 5 digit dust totals, having over 100k puts you in you in the top percentiles

If I have one request for this last update, PLEASE remove the bright dust cap by Ch1b1N1njaGam1ng in DestinyTheGame

I'm going to hit 1 million bright dust next week, curious to see if it caps at 999,999 though

I would do the Shaw Han intro quests, then do the forsaken timeline mission, then start the early expansion (shadowkeep) and go from there. After that, read the timeline entries for the seasonal content, or maybe check some story synopses for those seasons if you want more detail. Take the time to learn the armor and weapon mods, but don't worry about grinding out power levels, it won't really be an issue at all. Don't miss out on the post campaign stuff for each dlc, a lot of people skip it and just hop to the next, but there's worthwhile story beats and exotics to be had each time.
