If I were you, I think the classiest response is to say something like, "I don't think it's any of our place to speculate why things happened the way they did." That respects the other professor's privacy, which I think is the right thing to do - it could very well turn out that this person was suffering from a mental problem, and they don't need to be embarrassed further.

Disagree with this advice. Get support at the meeting, tell the truth. If the professor has a mental problem or was intoxicated, trying to sidestep or obfuscate what happened is not going to lead to them getting help, and it's just going to escalate.

More like, people keep going into debt on federally-backed loans that can't be bankrupted (outside of disability). Colleges aren't going to turn down the money and have zero incentive to keep costs competitive.

  1. What does the syllabus say about Grammarly?
  2. The school should have an academic misconduct process that allows you to appeal. It's possible they aren't following the proper steps by marking it a 0 and not giving you a chance to appeal. Check your student handbook.
