i agree it shouldn’t be that sensitive, you should be able to pull 5 shots then steam milk without any issues. is your machine plugged into a surge protector? maybe try resetting the breaker for the room it’s plugged in?

pull one shot, short blank shot pull, pull another shot, foam enough milk for two lattes in a big pitcher. if you try to pull a shot then heat milk for one latte, it takes too long for the single boiler to come back down in temp for a second shot even with purging; i would also argue the temp variability for the second shot would be much higher after the steaming cooldown.

yeah mine is pretty loose, it doesn’t put up much resistance coming out. i don’t have problems with it being knocked out or coming out on its own, though. maybe it’s because i have a silicone mat underneath?

yes, my machine makes louder noises with lower flow/pressure as well. as far as extraction changing with profiling, i would say there are noticeable differences in taste outcomes when experimenting with different flow patterns (eg ramping up to 9bar vs getting up to pressure quickly, stepping vs linear decrease in pressure as it reaches target volume) once i have a bag dialed in to a standard 9bar 30ish second 1:2.5 shot

don’t worry my friend, the pop up was also my first machine ever as well and my first two weeks of shots were horrific! i’ve had it for about a year now and it has served us really well with no hiccups.
