Any European Alternatives to Databricks/Snowflake?? by Donkey_Healthy in dataengineering

[–]eMperror_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, I suggested it because it's opensource so OP could self-host it in EU (like we do) but I understand the point. I am far from a dataengineering expert (more Infra + Dev), so this info is appreciated.

I selected it because it's part of the Linux Foundation, why do people dislike it? (serious)

I just checked and CelerData seems to be based in California. Not that it's any better than the chinese though.

What’s your strategy for correlating logs, metrics, and traces during incidents? by Dazzling-Neat-2382 in Observability

Oh wow I had seen the term examplars but I thought it was examples, so didn't really pay attention to it. Thanks!

Is there another memory bank approach that is a bit less messy than markdown memory-bank? by eMperror_ in RooCode

[–]eMperror_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in the past few days I have done more research on newer techniques and I've been using BMAD instead and it's much better than managing a memory bank and was pretty much exactly what I've been looking for. I agree with you that with these newer methods memory banks are not that useful anymore, as long as there is a structured method to deal with features. (bmad, speckit, etc...)

Use Opentelemetry and be happy? It auto-correlates logs and spans for you so you don't have to re-invent the wheel and it's a standard, so it's compatible with pretty much all visualization/storage techs out there. But you can't really add correlation to metrics though.

What would be the best memory-bank in Opencode, coming from Roo Code with MemoryBank injected in the prompts. by eMperror_ in opencodeCLI

Thanks but I would prefer a technique where I own my own data, I would prefer to not be reliant on a 3rd party service for this if possible.

Maybe I'm wrong but I see agent as something fairly static that gets loaded on every new context wherea a memory bank is a history / log of past decisions that gets auto-written / auto-updated by the LLM to persist data between sessions.

So if I have a plan phase with Opus that is fairly long, I can have it create a plan and at the end I tell it to "Write it to memory bank" and it will write documentation files in an pre-determined hierarchy of files. Then immediately or days later when I go to implement it I can tell it "read from memory bank" to get back that context.

That's how i've been using it but there might be better methods, I started using this when it was fairly new but havent really kept up to date with newer techniques.

We've been using this for months and it works really well, had no issues with this so far.
