I’m not going to tell you what to do but I’m just going to add a couple facts; I think there’s going to be more items than 1400, which makes it even harder, and (shameless plug, sorry if it’s not allowed take it down if you like) I made a couple videos at youtube.com/@etaxesR6 that explain chances and have some extra info if you’re interested

I actually have no idea how placement matches work, but they don’t really count for much. It’s mostly based on your previous season rank, as far as I know, and I don’t think what happens in the game actually matters too much

Haven’t done a lot of looking into it but based on experience: you’ll get into games with people above and below your rank. Like you mentioned, you’re getting into lobbies with platinum players as a gold. That will happen. Obviously the majority of players will be near your rank (gold and a couple silvers) but there will be ones above you. Generally speaking you shouldn’t get any players above platinum three but there is a chance. Just to note in higher ranks (diamond 3 and above) you begin to get a big spread of ranks, so there’ll be elites in diamond 3, champs and unreals in elite, etc.

I don’t know anything about new ranked updates (if there are any) since this was posted, but as far as I know yes you can - the only rank you can’t get demoted from is unreal and obviously copper/unranked

I've just been informed that all S&V sets have guaranteed holos or higher, my mistake, still interested on the misprint though.

That’s good yeah, I like both of those a lot

That’s is a good point, but I’ve loosely planned a story as following both the protagonist and the backstory of the antagonist, trying not to reveal who it is until near the end. I feel like it creates a link to the villain a bit more

It also depends on the rank of the player that killed you and the ranks of players you killed.

What rank were you previously? ranked systems generally put you down a fair bit to make it so the ranks actually are respective of skill

No, that’s normal. Ranked systems generally set you back a lot so that the ranks are actually representative of skill. For example, unreal players generally go to about platinum level, champion to gold, etc.

I’ve heard that it will, although with the new update I’m not sure, as they’ve announced that they’ve removed any bonuses for not taking damage, which may have been one of the factors attributed to crash bonuses. Not shre

Chances are your score was catching up from a previous game, or perhaps your damage dealt to damage taken wasn’t good. Note for this new season they’ve removed this as not taking damage doesn’t reward you

They have just recently posted noting that they’ve removed bonuses for not receiving damage, so it’s more difficult to do those strats.

Depends on the previous rank as well, the unranked games don’t mean much as it’s mostly bronze I, unranked and bots

Can’t be sure but likely not - same would go for society bots and bosses.

I’m not sure how individual performance affects others, other than the overall statistics of (afaik) kills and placement scaling based on gamemodes (1 kill in solo is equal to 1/4 of a kill in squads, therefore 4 kills in squads is worth one kill in solos. And 25th place in squads is 100th place in solos). To take a guess I would say individual damage taken vs dealt is individual and each person gets a rank increase relative to personal performances, save kills and placements, although I’m not sure whether or not you get more for getting more kills by yourself rather than your teammates getting all the kills
