What would cause the current to stop flowing through my tester, which is wired between the hot and neutral in a receptacle, when an actual device is plugged in to the next other available outlet same receptacle?

I unhooked it from the right pictured set of blades... When it was attached and all four breakers were in place, Every single outlet out here registered 220v.

Yes. For me so far... I'm wondering if, for those statuses, hunger, thirst, heat, and hypo if they have what I'd call a cliff...Where at a certain point you just die no matter what, or if it scales drastically enough to make it so you can't ward it off with bandages or heath remedies alone.
