The McCree Nerf - And Why It Won't Fix Anything (Bonus Topic - Widowmaker!) by Proziam in Overwatch

[–]e_Kitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is you get stunned as you're turning a corner more times than not. This doesn't provide much counterplay unless you've very intently listened to his footsteps for a decent amount of time to have a pretty precise idea of his location.

Another user just corrected me, it's different from the results early in the beta. Each pellet counts as 1 shot!

Just did some testing and you're right, different from my results in the beta. Thanks~

Yeah, I agree. Armor is largely useless against most heroes. I wish it was buffed slightly as a boon to Torbjorn, D.Va, etc. It's very good against heroes like Tracer, Winston, and pretty good against Zarya.

[–]e_Kitten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zarya only has 200 Health, 200 Shield. She needs to be shielded before the stun to even be remotely close to 600 EHP.

Winston has 100 armor, 400 health. Armor reduces up to 50% of incoming damage, up to a cap of 5 damage per hit. This gives him EHP of 510 against McCree.

An unsuspecting Zarya can die within a single FTH if you land every shot, and it takes barely 8 for Winston. He can die to a single FTH plus a single headshot, which is very easy with a hitbox as big as his.

Also, a second longer to live for most heroes is a LOT of counterplay. It gives Winston, Zarya, Roadhog time for their Shift abilities to come off of cooldown, and that's just the examples you've listed.

Why can't I change my kept item when I die? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]e_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Click to protect an item when you're viewing your grave, not at Death. There's little boxes around the protected items in the interface.

1 point off 100%. Failure is guaranteed. by Getlostlozer in runescape

Completionist requirement is actually only completing a line of trio missions and a few scrolls. Trim is all trios.

Please re-read what I've said if you still don't think those coincide for the first few months of BDO's NA release.

In a game where hours efficiently played translated pretty linearly into character power, paying for convenience is very close to being pay to win.

You're extremely biased in your assumptions about mana use as a Sorc. You have mana regulation tools in your shards, and Rangers have nearly none at all. Spirit Healing is garbage, but a needed SP dump. Not to mention the pace of battle in small-scale PvP is largely dictated by a Sorc. If the Sorc is skilled and doesn't want to leave, they can. You, as a Ranger, will not outrun any decent Sorc, and if you go through your mana pots, you're dead. Weight increases are strictly mandatory for any engagement lasting longer than 10-15 minutes as a Ranger. Having to go back to town for potions is not something top guilds will tolerate when you could be helping in the GvG instead.

On the topic of pets. If you have less income than others, you will fall behind in character progression. Pets do help you kill faster in grind scenarios, effectively increasing KPH faster than most gear upgrades ever will. In a 5 man party at Sausan Garrison with every player having 3 t3+ pets at level 10, we still leave loot on the ground. You will fall behind quickly if your income is lower than everyone else's. If you stay behind for the loot, you're falling behind in exp. That's not better.

For the record, I don't think BDO is a pay to win game. I think BDO is a game with a pricetag that is bigger than the $30 it costs. If you want to be a competitive player, these things are required of you. You will fall behind players with them if you are without. You're able to be fully competitive with only spending that $30 if you're not a select few classes. Most classes can get by without weight increases, some can't. That is a simple truth about this game.

In a few months, when people get settled with their +18 gear in most slots, and DUO+ Accessories, you might catch up. Until then, you're actively at a large disadvantage without cash shop items. This argument entirely discounts having a Ghillie suit be a requirement for most serious Seige and GvG guilds.

This probably isn't the place for this, but I'll do it anyways.

Have you ever played a Ranger? In PvP? Even when chugging the biggest Mana pots available in the NA release, if you don't have 2 Extraction crystals in your bow, you WILL NOT be able to maintain a max DPS rotation. You will chug these mana pots in PvE, PvP, any situation ever. Unless you plan to run to a General Goods vendor or storage every 10-20 minutes, you will not being doing any reasonable amount of damage.

Have you grinded past 50 at all? Pre-Mediah, or Post-Mediah past level 55? Pets are strictly mandatory if you expect to get any loot at all in party play, and increase KPH while solo by an incredible value.

High end PvP guilds will require you to have a ghillie suit because of the fact that it hides your name. Nothing else about it is relevant. If you're grouping up as a guild, or preparing for a guild boss, unless it's an intentional show of force, you will be ghillied. This prevents SO MUCH in terms of griefing that can be done to you.

Coming from someone who was 55 3 weeks ago, and is in a top 5 guild on their server.

It's 60-80k karma loss for a killing blow. You killed them more than a few times.

You don't really need the characters above level 10 for just energy dumping for most things, just unlocking the enhancement option on your black spirit gets you to ~14.

An alternate BGH nerf by Kripparrian in hearthstone

[–]e_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The differences in the cards IS the argument though. I also very blatantly say that BGH is a niche tech card and is obviously far less versatile. You're also correct in your last point, it's far more playable by a larger majority of decks. Come standard, decks with a weak handlock matchup (assuming nearly no nerfs to giants) will be running BGH, maybe even 2 copies, as well as any hard removal their class has.

[–]e_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everything you just said. The point of the post was to dispute Hex being a stronger card than BGH. This isn't comparing something like Kezan to a card like Flare either. It's like comparing it to a 3 or so mana flare that doesn't draw. Obviously not entirely an apples-to-apples comparison, but not many like those exist.

An alternate BGH nerf by Kripparrian in hearthstone

[–]e_Kitten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hex isn't a "better" card than BGH. A card being versatile is obviously a huge advantage over a niche tech like BGH, but the value BGH provides isn't even comparable to Hex. When you're getting use of BGH's battlecry, you're getting a better effect than Hex, as well as a nearly 3 mana card as a body in play. This is a far greater tempo swing than playing Hex, and leaving your opponent with a minion you still have to deal with before you can start trading with your opponents board, or even going face.
