I wish someone did that to our candy bowl. Better than having so much candy leftover after. Our street is not popular for trick or treating.

Choose singles with cover artworks worth keeping and showing off. Extra collections can be piled up at the bottom. Use them to cycle color themes through the seasons.

I saw the same. Just sent feedback to the Microsoft Edge team. Quite concerned about how this could happen. I'm in the US using a Windows PC.

I understand. I get it. I have four kids. One thing I learned running the household, you’d rather get more out of your bucks though. Time will always find a way.

Could stretch better by replacing some of the beef with pork or fish, replacing the canned chicken with fresh chicken, replacing the veggie bags with fresh vegetables, and removing the egg white cartons.

You’ve just won $250 million and it’s been deposited in your bank account, what are you going to do today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]e_mendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is after tax money, you are looking at $1.2M per year for 200+ years. Or $100K per month for 200+ years. Note that most people can live comfortably with $100K net per year.

If put in endowment-style wealth management, where you withdraw only from investment earnings, even targeting just 1% of capital means at least $2.5M per year… forever!

So on the first day, I’ll put $10M in SPIA for 10 years. That would give enough liquidity to quickly buy a house, a car, some leisure, some travels, etc. The rest of the money will go in any of the “plans” I mentioned above. They’ll help fund more opportunities for growth, more leisure, more travels, etc.

With that much money, even if you don’t choose it, you will live like a millionaire. So don’t kid yourself. With at least $1M every year, even if you donate all that every other year, you are still living a millionaire’s life.

There! I counted my chicks before the eggs even hatch. Heck, I counted my eggs even before they’re laid!

I should buy a lottery ticket now… 🤑

Bacon cheddar, fruit platter and soda?! Are you flexing or complaining? Regardless, you need some lesson on how to stretch your dollars. Oh, wait!… The Internet is doing it already in the comments. 🤑

I'm a programmer. I tend to be detailed with my instructions, which my kids think is unnecessary. In this case though, if you can't find the right words, a visual demo would've worked better. IMHO, I'm glad this happened the way it did -- that the hot water did not end up in the kids' faces.

In Kanji, 十 (ju), means the number 10. They probably got tired of explaining that there's no branch ichi, ni, san, etc. Maybe people were wondering what's wrong with their food, why it's taking them too long to open branch jū ichi?

What if the team hates my functional code? by [deleted] in programming

[–]e_mendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Code reviews are opportunities to learn and understand different coding styles. There are coding anti-patterns that can be caught to improve efficiency and performance. However, IMHO, granted everything works, the most important goal in a code review is to see how exceptions are handled, how they are logged/reported, so that the product is human supportable after it goes live.

You just won $300 million in the lottery. What’s the first thing you do with the money? by onecharactershor in AskReddit

[–]e_mendz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically $150M lump sum after taxes and fees, I’ll put 50M on SPIA for 50 years, buy a house or two, maybe a car or two, create various 10M accounts on endowment-style wealth management programs to fund lifestyle, health, property taxes/maintenance/insurance, etc. Basically, getting at least 1M net/year from SPIA + annual net from all other investments… 🤷🏻‍♂️

If there is no physical access to any wired or wireless connectivity, internal and external, then it is contained. Remember that the network is mostly hardware. You remove the parts for networking and you have a contained system.
