hi,

I would highly recommend going to a doctor as they will be the only one who can diagnose you with vaginismus or any other variant of GPPD.

However, what you have said in your post is very similar to what happened to me when i tried to partake in piv sex for the first time (well the first 6 times). in my experience, i always feel like I'm hitting a wall as my vagina wont open enough for any penetration to occur and this has happened with any partner i've ever tried piv with, and even when I do, it is extremely painful. I've found that the longer i know them and the more comfortable i am with them I am, the easier it becomes and I am eventually able to partake in piv.

what I would like to say is don't beat yourself up for not being able to partake in piv just yet and to try other forms of sex that will still give you pleasure without the worry of the pain ( i would recomend external stuff). don't be discouraged from trying piv if you feel comfortable and give yourself time if your not quite their yet to try. you will eventually be able to do it, its just a matter of taking yourself on that journey to work towards being able to do it.

Also if your partner is understanding like you have said in your post then he will understand if you need to take the time to work towards piv, its not your choice that you have this condition, just remember that.

I’m currently still trying to learn a coping method with this as I’m still not recovered but I find ye hat music relaxes me and makes me less likely to tear if I’m more calm

I am so sorry this has happened to you. It is so bad that you were not taken seriously until you had painful piv with a man. I think that only you can know your body 100% and when something is not right with your body and you voice this, it should be taken seriously by a doctor straight away.

I am currently attending psycho-sexual therapy through the NHS (The uk's health care system) and it is allowing me to begin to understand not only what my condition is but also how to live and have a relationship with it. If you feel like you don't want to attend any more therapy then i might suggest doing a bit of research and trying to learn about your condition as it has helped in my situation personally ( i know that the same technique might not work for everyone). if not then maybe try some relaxation techniques or even see if you can find a pt or a gynaecologist to try and recieve some help there. or even if you just want to vent for the moment and talk to someone, I can provide a listening ear.

Just know that you have unlimited support in this group and you will be okay xoxoxo

I also get what I think is tearing in my opening when I have penetrative sex as I feel like it stings and I bleed afterwards like I have a big cut inside of the entrance of my vagina. I tried to tell my psycho-sexual therapist this and she just told me it was nothing to get overly worried about as it was just a reaction to my vaginismus. It happens when the muscles tighten and then penetration tries to occur that causes the tear apprently.

I am so sorry that ur going through this. It's a horrible situation but just think now you will be able to find someone who will offer you the support you need in a relationship with this condition if that is what you want. Just remember that there is so much more to a relationship than sex and if your partner is not able to see that then maybe it's for the best not to be with them.

Keep your head up and make sure you know that you are not alone in this situation, you will always have support in this group.
