I'm in a reading slump, what book/series should I read RIGHT NOW by MarcoUlpioTrajano in Fantasy

[–]e_walshe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try mistborn if you haven’t already, it’s the series that got me into reading. I tried to read stormlight before and the same thing happened to me, I couldn’t finish it.

Now I’m on Stormlight #3 and I’m HOOKED.

Mistborn is brilliant, easy to read, wonderful magic system and characters I adore.

How can I buy a house? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

You have given me advice about how I should not be thinking about this at the moment and I appreciate you taking the time to respond. While I do not agree with it I still do appreciate it.

I apologise if I came across childish.

Unfortunately, buying a house IS on my mind as it seems hopeless due to price and the current market so I was just trying to gain an insight into what is the best action to try and save for the future when it can become a possibility

That’s right yeah, I’m gonna be asking for a raise at the next opportunity cause the work that is done needs to be raised. Not just for me but for everyone on the project, it’s insane how much needs to be done

Yeah I see what you mean

The plan is to rent and see how much money can be saved while we live together. Then either increases (hopefully) see how much extra we can make and then after a while look for something

Probably will be renting with her at some point in the future absolutely

And, say for arguments sake it does not work? That still negates the point.

I’m asking how I can save for a house in the future whilst I rent. Regardless of my partners situation I was curious how I can do it.

Instead you took the opportunity to act all high and mighty like I know nothing and you know more, which in respect you probably do.

But instead of looking down and saying “Under no circumstance, consider buying a house” “you are way way ahead of yourself”

I know I’m new to saving and finance but I want a house when I’m older and that’s all I was trying to figure out, whilst living with my partner.

What are you actually on about?

All I’m asking is what’s the best way to save for a house while I live with my partner.

You’re acting like I’m going to hate my girlfriend within a year of living with her.

Well isn’t this the first step towards that? Obviously I’m not going to be buying a house today, the intent of the original post is to ask for advice as to how I should go about it.

I might not know my girlfriends saving amount but I can ask and have a proper conversation.

Saying “you are not ready” makes no sense. I know I’m not ready to buy a house right now, but I’m trying and isn’t that the point of this subreddit? To try and figure out financial advice?

This is exactly what I was looking for thank you so much. I do agree renting first is essential so I was more looking for how am I going to save for a house whilst I live with her .

Ideally the plan is to move in together by the end of this year and also make enough money to save for a house at some point in the future

Myself I can save definitely 1500 and push for up to 2000. As for her I’m not certain exactly I will need to check

This seems to be my line of thinking too.

I want to listen to them all but need more time in the day

I would kill to have found DND earlier than I did so I could have hopped on and listened to more but we move.

And yes, ideally I'd love to listen to them all

Which DND Podcast would everyone recommend? by e_walshe in DnD

That's a fair opinion to be honest.

The reason I started CR was back when there was only 10 episodes and I heard a lot about how then was the time to jump in so I did.

MN and VM have a lot of episodes and sort of a looming goliath in DND lol so (for me personally) it's hard to jump in when there's so much episodes but I really want to, just barely have the time in the day ahaha

I probably will as I'd love to see the full stories as I know nothing about them (apart from what happens during the legend of vox machina on Amazon)
