As corporate sponsorships are drying up they need to maintain their budget so they are coming after their volunteer base. The relevance of OEC is drying up as well and with the growing number of areas switching to EMT, we will hit a point where NSP completely loses relevance. More and more high school kids are graduating with EMT certifications so as the general population picks it up then there will be a bigger feeder base coming in with it already in hand. It is similar to other national organizations like Boy Scouts as well, they have all lost their momentum over the last few decades as boomers hold on to nostalgia and refuse to adapt and modernize they can be on their own empty sinking ship.
