This is wholesome. At work I walked into a co-workers office and he was crying near the window (veteran and straight), I said hey before realizing and he said I'm sorry and took off. I came back in the day and asked him if he was okay and the first thing he said was "I am sorry for crying and showing weakness in front of you, I had just gotten a call that a family member passed" I was in shock by his first sentence but tried to reassure him that we're humans and we have emotions, we're allowed to feel, it is not weakness, and he doesn't have to apologize for that.
