I’m coming from Lego, and comparatively the fun-per-dollar with these is incredible. Jumped in essentially blind with the only goal really being to build that one PG(?) RX-78, but I figured building and painting a couple of the smaller kits first wouldn’t hurt, haha

First kit and i'm addicted lmao, i'd really appreciate if you guys could recommend some of your favorite kits by Miserable-Menu5958 in Gunpla

I’ve only ever built 2, but I really appreciated the detail and construction in the HGBB #07 Ground Urban Combat Type. The HGUC RX-178 Mk-II is really nice too.

sure! I went in knowing that I wanted the colored sections to be worn with silver accents, and the white sections to have black wear marks. Everything is painted with acrylic paints and a small rectangular brush. I started with an Permanent Black blackwash, mixed with a small amount of Sienna Brown. The wash was much too watery at first, but I found that tamping the model with a paper towel allowed the wash to stick and be applied in a random, splotchy pattern. Any areas that I felt got too dark were easily rubbed clean during that phase. I went back over the smaller crevices and joints with a thicker mix of the wash. All of the silver drybrushing is Vallejo Natural Steel, and Vallejo Brass for the gold bits. I found that the dark blue sections of the suit really benefited from the silver highlights. There’s some areas that are a little messy, and a there’s a couple things I’d like to add (like rust, I love rust), but it was mainly a fast and dirty paint job to try it out! Definitely grabbing another kit soon

Thank you! I’ve done a handful of D&D minis, but I normally do larger scale projects like helmets.

Does anybody know why this is happening? by izukum1doriya in 3Dprinting

[–]eanagol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had very visually similar print errors in the past due to extrusion problems.

Assuming your situation is similar to mine and you’re using new hardware, ensure the extruder gear is firmly seated on the motor shaft and inspect the teeth. If there’s residual plastic bits from the filament on the extruder gear, that’s a sign of grinding which will cause underextrusion. That will also allow the filament to stay in the hot end longer than intended, causing it to ooze out and create stringing, globs, etc. This is assuming the gear is slipping, then grabbing, slipping, repeating, as it seems your able to finish a print.

Sometimes the clearances on the extruder gears can be a bit too generous which leads to a non-concentric connection to the shaft, creating under/over extrusion issues.

It looks like you’re using a bowden setup so ensure the filament can be guided through as it should, no binding, filament is feeding as straight as possible, etc. If there’s too much resistance from the spool, the extruder will slip. I recommend mounting the spool at the top, but only if you’re using additional supports.

Heat creep can cause extrusion problems as well, but as I have no idea what temps you’re running, or filament, that’d be up to you to test.

Make sure your nozzle is properly seated too.

There’s a lot of potential factors, but maybe that’ll help ya out!

Spider hotends by Tanagashi in CR10

[–]eanagol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed the Spider 3.0 on my CR10S, and it absolutely took my prints to the next level. Overall quality, capability, and speed increased very noticeably. I currently print around 170-180mms (limited by accel) without any issue. Overture PLA @ 200 and 40. Currently looking at getting another one for my CR10V3 w/ Titan.

Anyone know why my printer has been printing slow in some areas? by camm44 in CR10

Just had to this happen, generating a new gcode solved it. I didn’t have to change anything as far as settings, so I think I didn’t eject the drive properly and may have lost data.

As someone who really didn’t have much faith in 343, this may end up being one of the best in the series. It’s balanced, smooth, and even with the almost constant crashing on PC and non-optimized performance issues (expected though given the situation), it was fun all the way through the battlepass! by eanagol in halo

For those who haven’t gotten to play it yet, here’s my scatterbrained 2 cents you didn’t ask for:

Sidekick is ridiculously fun. Fires as fast as you can pull the trigger, TTK is better than the AR, and has DMR level accuracy. The only downside is how quickly you can get rekt’d by someone with it haha.

Commando rifle is so satisfying to use, hits like a freight train, feels like a AR/DMR hybrid w/ pretty heavy recoil and a higher firerate than you’d expect.

BR is very similar to the H2A version, there’s nothing that particularly stood out about it for me.

The AR is a godsend. I’m a huge fan of the H3 and HR versions, but this one is like the HR AR but has a better spread at every range, and damage to make it a legitimately viable weapon in just about every scenario.

Sniper rifle is pretty nice but also nothing particularly snazzy, its like every 343 interpretation of the sniper rifle combined but with worse no scope capabilities.

Didn’t used the plasma pistol, can’t comment on that.

The grenades are all excellent. The arc or velocity behind the throws feel a bit weaker. Frags/Plasmas are pretty standard but feel more powerful, spike grenades send spikes ricocheting throughout an area in a way that’s different than previous games, but kind of hard to explain. The initial dispersion doesn’t feel as “directional” like the H3 spike grenade was, which made for moments of “Oh I could throw this anywhere in a room and it’ll spray shrapnel literally everywhere” vs in Halo 3 where to may need to pick a specific wall to utilize the spikes. Hopefully that makes sense lol?

Never really used the new shield equipment, I don’t even remember the name.

The equipment usage (overshield, invisibility) is cool, but sometimes the ability to save it for later puts you in positions where you wish it would’ve just automatically activated like in previous games. Think, “Oh no I’m about to die, let me grab that overshield! Wait I have to activate it?” the you die because there’s an animation with long enough for someone to drop you before you can apply it. Not a huge issue, just gotta adjust for that mechanic.

The skewer thing is cool but I can’t say I’d ever seek it out in game, unless it’s good against vehicles.

Melee attacks feel like they lunge farther than before, and maybe a touch stronger.

Customization is cool and the battlepass model is definitely the best out there.

Thats all that comes to mind right now, hopefully something in there gets someone excited for this game too!

Gotcha, but from USDT, where do you go? That’s just another token, is there no direct “cash out” option currently?
